Thanks, i would like to hear how people have got on if they have done this as i am having a major worry whether or not to try and open another account with bad credit rating now.

Hi, if your worried you may be better to pm the people who have the Barclays account, they may not come on the thread often enough to give you the reassurance you need. I don't think SC would recommend you open the Barclays basic account unless it was safe. Have you rung SC to get there assurance?

    Hi
We have debts with Barclays, OD, Barclaycard and MasterCard. Stepchange advised us to open a basic bank account with Barclays and sent us the paperwork which we completed. 2 months in and no problems so far ( I trust stepchange as opening the new account and changing everything over was very time consuming, so don't want to really change again)

Please try not to worry, it's hard, can't say it isn't, but it does get easier xx
  • Spoken to stepchange and they have advised changing if we are worried as because we opened the acoount in branch and not with the specific form they sent us they cannnot say they will not offset us.

Oh well, have to open a new account.

Deciding between co op or yorkshire at the moment.

    Cant make mind up.

Hey all, hope all are doing well!

Quick question, I'm not sure where else to go at the moment. Still waiting for my F&F IVA to go through, and PayPlan have asked me to complete forms to reclaim PPI, through their affiliated company, naturally. Thing is I'm not sure where it says that the Creditors demand I do this on my chairman's report. I know I'll end up doing this myself, as the company charge £125 +VAT per creditor, and I know for a fact that any PPI I had will be on accounts over 10 years old, and will be for very small accounts.

Again it all comes down to principles. I don't have to pay the fees myself, but it will come out of the amount offered to creditors, which would amount to 30% or so of the amount they are getting!

So, my question is, does anyone know if on an IVA I have to make a PPI claim?

    Hi Ian

Looks like they to at least try -Your Insolvency Practitioner has an obligation to maximise returns to creditors, which includes investigating any and all assets.

Good luck and let us now how you get on.

Well, I just renewed my car insurance and opted for pay monthly and there wasn't any hesitation at all. That was with OneQuoteDirect.
