Hi everything in place (fingers crossed) DMP starting earlier than the 1/6/13- first payment to creditors should go through on the 20/5/12.

Erm - if you manage that, I want to borrow that time machine of yours so I can go and undo some of the stupid borrowing choices I made :D :rotfl:

Hello newbies and all those just starting their DMP, hope it is all going well.

We are nearly two years into our plan and I think all the inanimate objects in my house have got it in for me:( Trying to build up my emergency fund but it ain't happening. Everything keeps going wrong. Latest item to let me down - the lawn mower. Emergency fund will have to be dipped into again. Oh well I suppose it could be worse. I could be mowing the lawn:D

Couldn't you make do with scissors and tweezers GUO?

Rumour has it Ms TTFTM had to purchase an iron but only on the proviso the man about the house was the driver!

Hope your luck changes very soon :)

    Hello All

I hope all is going well for my fellow DMPers. Sorry to hear GUO that there never seems to be an opportunity to save for emergencies and I hope the latest problem of the lawnmower can be resolved without costing too much.

I am currently entertaining myself with a missing payment to one of my creditors, I have spoken to SC about this but they are saying just to wait and see if it turns up at the moment. So the plan of action is to wait and see if the next payment goes through and then contact them again if it does but still no sign of this months. I must have got a moody one at the bank when I contacted them as they now also want a new updated I&E as I am paying more due to a pay rise, everyone else has just wanted the money!

NRAM also acknowledged my complaint of the price of the house sale over a month later than when I wrote about it, and are looking into it which will be great as it will probably be sold by then at a silly price so rather seems pointless to send out a letter.

Apart from that all else is quiet after that recent flurry of activity.

Hope you all have a good day.

Scissors and tweezers:eek::eek: I'd be there all year! I'm worrying about the car now, one side looks lower than the other! Definitely agree about the iron.

    Hello
Just setting up my DMP with one of the charities after many (many) years of head in sand type panic. I have done the I/E stuff, moved bank accounts and am just contacting my creditors to let them know I will be making token payments until the dmp is in place. It's inspiring to read your stories and gives me hope. Thank you all. I hope to be able to do the same for others in a few months - and hope is not a word I use lightly (or have indeed used any time recently....)

    Hi Karen,

Well done on taking the first step. It's very scary but strangely satisfying, a real mix of emotions.
So I've had a letter back from Asda CC (creation) although they had reduced our interest to 0.258 this means as they are currently only receiving £5 per month we are paying a grand total of about 38p off every month:eek:
I've wrote using the template on here asking they stop interest altogether and refund any interest charged since our DMP began.
Anyway their response is that they have helped by accepting the payment. It is the system that generates the interest based on what we pay and as this is just a temporary measure until we can go back to making the full expected payment there is nothing else they can do, oh and also they cannot comment on what other creditors do ( I mentioned everyone else had completely stopped interest)
What would you do next folkes? Has anyone else dealt with Creation? Should I give it a few more months, until they realise it will be a very long time before we are back making full payments or write again. We started our DMP in March so they have had 3 payments so far.
    Any advice much appreciated.
In other news dh is much busier this week, touch wood, and with a new contract coming in, I'm hoping we are finally turning a corner although not out of the woods yet I can see a time in the not too dim and distant future where we can increase our creditors payments, not until we have built up a decent emergency fund. Hope everyone is doing ok. Mossop how are things, haven't seen you posting recently?

Look on the bright side Grownurown - the weather has changed and rain forecast for the next 10 days so you will have a few weeks to save until the weather changes again ! Either that or go au natural and create a summer meadow :)
