    Good morning fellow DFW's,

Welcome to all the newbies - you're on the right path and the only way is up :) Congrats to those who are almost through, or who have hit various milestones. Those stories are always great reading.

I'm a bit frustrated at the moment... our DMP should start 1st June and I'm itching for that to happen. But there is a delay being caused because OH's salary at the moment still includes his car and mileage allowance (some £380 pm) which he will lose as soon as he gets a company car. His employer has enforced a new transport policy, so having a company car is not optional.

Anyway - he ordered it some 7 weeks ago and it should have arrived by the end of April, but there's some sort of hiccup between his employer and the lease company - who seemingly can't agree the T&C's for the lease arrangement. OH's been on the phone every day for the last two weeks trying to sort it - and we've now been given a hire car and told we might have to keep it for a month.

So -you might wonder, why is this a problem? Well, SC don't want to set up the DMP based on a guesstimate of what OH's net pay will be when he loses his allowances. So they asked OH to contact the HMRC to find out what his tax code will be -and they (SC) said they can then work it out. But HMRC say they can't give him his new tax code until he gets his car, because (and I just don't get this) they need the new car registration. OH can't get it, because the lease company won't register the car until the lease T&Cs are agreed. So we are literally going round in circles.

The way things are going, we might not be able to get the DMP up and running until July now - and the delay is seriously stressing me out.

I sent all my creditor letters off saying SC would be in touch this month, and I guess they won't be until the salary query is resolved. I've already received a few letters back with the usual - if you fail to miss a payment - bad things will happen blah...blah.

Oh well - at least the sun is shining and we might actually get a decent bank holiday. OH's is doing some odd jobs for a friend for a little extra cash as well - so that's good.

Keep fighting the good fight all... and have a great weekend :)

    Thats right Ellie,

and congratulations on paying of a third of your debt, I know how good that feels !.

Thanks Antonic - That's made my day:rotfl:I finally feel as though I'm getting somewhere with my debt mountain.

Checking Noddle has shown all our debts apart from BCard have defaulted us (never would I have thought that I would be so happy to be saying this!)

Well done on getting to the final hurdle, I have watched your count down for some time now and feel quite excited for you;)

Without doing further affordability and credit checks?
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

    Not a problem Julie.

Porting rules can be different depending on the company.

In NRAMs case and they cannot lend anymore money than you already have so the choice is just to move to one of the same value or less.

It counts as a new mortgage but they allow you to 'port' the rate as long as the above conditions are met and you meet affordability checks.

I know of a house going rather cheap at the moment actually being sold by NRAM, sure you could port that if interested HH :D

The only draw back is it's in a place that is most wet, mostly cold and full of a lot of orange people :rotfl:

Hello to all the newbies and good luck btw.
