Mine arrived this morning. I have set it up and the monitor flashes on and off every few seconds. After spending best part of an hour onto tech support, they tell me the video card does not support Vista!!!!!!

How the hell can they sell me a computer that doesn't work??????
Has anyone else heard of this issue???

I was just on the other screen about to order one for my son when I read this.

Bit wary now. Might ask for XP instead.

I didn't upgrade, I'm not a computer expert, and if they offer the basic one, surely it should work!

That must come under the sale of goods act - where something sold has to be fit for purpose? Surely you can't have a PC sold that won't support the software on it?

Ours arrived yesterday, its up and running with all the new software i installed on it for her indoors. I have to say i was pretty impressed with the spec and build quality for such a low cost machine.

Vista is also quite snappy to respond with the basic graphics
set up. Up to this point i have always custom built my own machines but not anymore for this price. :D

I agree but he's saying I built the system by ticking boxes, not them. My point is, why offer a graphics card and Vista when you know the graphics card won't support Vista. His argument was that they don't know what customers are doing with the PC and they may be putting their own graphics card in!

If you didn't upgrade then you must be using the "on board" graphics card, i.e. part of the motherboard. So in fact you did not even select this card, you were just buying the one recommended. This is definitiely their fault.

It would be like BMW giving you some different options for in-car stereo i.e. cassette/ CD etc. when they knew that the CD player would not work in that model of car.
