Is it true that this pc does not come with any molex 4-pin connector??

There is supposed to be a p10 connector, but it is not provided with this dell psu???0 -
... There are not many SATA DVD burners out there and they are expensive.....
I think you may be surprised how SATA and PATA prices have merged, and the availability.
'Scan' lists at least 14 SATA DVD writers all in the £20-£25 price range.
Not really expensive!
I picked up a Samsung SATA dual layer, triple fomat (DVD +/- and RAM) with Lightscribe capability and Nero OEM included for £20 and it slotted into my E520 with no problems.
SATA is a lot neater inside the case too!
Forgot to mention too that a device exists to convert PATA (IDE) drives to SATA format. You can even get a device that allows a bare drive to operate via USB so you can copy stuff across. A Google search should do the trick!I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
Can anyone tell me if it's better to get this with the modem included? Ours hasn't arrived yet, but my son needs one for uni - and at this price! - he'd need a modem tho'.
Can one just be stuck in???The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -

My conclusion is that the best graphics cards you can add to the E520 without any issues or risk of issues and guaranteed not to need any additional power and run consistently is either the x1650xt or the 7600gt based cards.
They range from £65 - £80, so for £345 (£270 for E520 + £75 for graphics card) you can have a bargain.
NB: The Sapphire x1650xt and BFG Geforce 7600gt seem to be the most highly rated/recommended, they appear to have very similar performance.
More than good enough for the vast majority of things.
x1650xt Power Supply Requirements:
450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps, 12 volt rail
So in theory, dell 305W psu is underpowered0 -

My E520 (purchased December 2006) does have the connector P10, but I have seen reports on other forums of people saying this connector is not present on newer E520 machines.0 -

Where did you find that information. I searched the ATI web page and it mentioned nothing about the PSU requirements:
http://ati.amd.com/uk/products/RadeonX1650/index.html
I would like a graphics card with no fan if possible - I found this one from Asus:
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=8&l3=339&l4=0&model=1569&modelmenu=1
Again, I can not see anything on the PSU requirements.0 -
