The price of this offer has reduced to £293, the difference being that you now only get 1Gb of ram instead of 2Gb.

can someone tell me how the hell I get to speak to someone from Dell in the UK? Every number I use ends up in India.
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.

Use the text chat online, you usually get Dell in Ireland.
I did that and the support guy actually called me which i though was surprisingly good service.

I thought I'd post this on here to inform anyone whos thinking of or has bought a new system from Dell recently.

    http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2190128/dell-sued-misleading-customers

Over on HotUkDeals, there appear to be a lot of people who've had problems with their systems (but to be honest I think some are just expecting miracles for £329!).

This article might shed some light on issues that keep popping up with Dell. I wouldn't worry too much about it. But it is interesting.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

No, those ain't really problems, the real problem is that everybody was expecting the Best PC in the World when they only paid £300 for a decent PC.

With Dell, you can always buy the PC for such a bloody low price that you can't even build to beat it, and you can always return and get a refund if you dislike/hate it.

Even though the Double Memory offer has finished, its actually possible to still get the computer to 2gb very cheaply, I found this at HotUkDeals:

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deal/31390/crucial-1gb-240-pin-dimm-unbuff-ddr

That brings the total up to £429 with a 22" screen and Vista Home Premium. Now thats actually cheaper than the £440 it was when it had 2gb, so effectively the system has became cheaper! Lovely!
Free Sims = Free 50ps yum yum.

very pleased with mine aslo! A quick question perhaps some-one may know the answer to?

I am thinking about shoving another SATA hard drive alongside the one Dell provided, yet recall on the Dell website that this pc only supports up to 320 gig. Is that right, as I would have thought you could shove any capacity HD in the spare slot and it would work?

    thanks
    :j
  • i bought the pc in the original deal and i gotta say its been fantastic, extremely fast and quiet, well worth the money

it does support any sized drive, the 320gb limit thing is wrong as they themselves offer a 500GB upgrade!!

its best to do a format when u get it to get rid of the pre installed rubbish and delete the partition if u want, then u have a clean new machine
