Useful to know that this system is also available without any monitor for £270 (before quidco/pigsback), e-value code: 305-D05E02

I went for the deal posted by Mike 3 weeks ago and wish i'd had left it now as it's cheaper with the extra memory i ordered from Crucial.I could have lived with a 19 inch screen instead of my 22 though it's nice having such a big one;)

Just to let you know ehen i ordered mine and they called to see if i was happy with everything and how they had dealt with me etc etc i mentioned i had gone through Quidco and she never knew anything about them.I told her they give 5% cashback which would have been about £25? and she said oh hold on and went to talk to someone. She came back and said they'll just give me the 5% back onto my CC and that worked out a bit more at £29.96 and it went on straight away aswell:)

As this is an integrated graphics card, does anyone know if this means that it can't ever be changed????
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

You don't change it. You just disable it and put a graphics card in one of the slots on the motherboard.

I've got one of these Dells and it is the easiest machine to upgrade I have ever come across. There are no screws involved at all. Everything including the hard drive, PC cards, DVD drives etc just quick lock into place. Basically you just slide a lever to get things in and out.

You just disable the on-board video in the control panel, run the Nvidia or ATI drivers program to install the drivers, turn off the PC, push in the card (no screws on this machine) and move the monitor cable over to the new card, close up the machine, turn it on and it should recognise the new card immediately.
If you do it following the instructions that come with your graphics card it will take about 5-10 minutes, most of which will be spent turning your pc off and on.
One of the easiest upgrades you can make (as long as you remember to disable the on-board graphics in Control panel).
EDIT - I would have bought one of these machines if it weren't for the fact that I just ordered 2GB of memory from Ebuyer to upgrade my existing Dell 5150. Damn.

This looks like a top offer.....just one question though. You can upgrade the integrated graphics card for a 256MB nVidia for £41.12 or 256MB ATI Radeon for £52.87 will this improve the performance of the system markedly? I only ask since I mostly use my PC for internet, email and I am rather addicted to football manager sims.

Thanks so much to the OP. I've been looking at the dell website for a couple of months(!) trying to get the specs I want for a decent price - this saves at least 150quid on the prices I was looking at.

Just ordered mine and can't wait. The pc I'm using at the moment was given to us by my dad when he upgraded, but I can't usually get on it during the week with 3 kids doing their homework/chatting to friends.
