BMW or Audi

A car as modern as either it really won't matter which wheels are driven, the car will be driving and you'll just be pointing it in the direction you wish to travel, you won't be balancing power and opposite lock tail sliding the BM round corners like some Japanese drifter.
My RWD goes anywhere i want it to but it's tyred correctly for the weather, i start work at silly O'Clock and my driveway is very steep and long, and not going to work is not an option, if i had a FWD i would tyre it similarly for the same reason.
Have the car you want, being concerned about road traction went out the window when modern traction and stability aids came through the door.0 -

He just wants a badge/status symbol.
Maybe he just likes Audis and BMWs?0 -

If its build quality and reliability you want you need a Skoda.
I'd say he'd want something Japanese not something else from the Volks/Audi stable.
Not the most exciting boxes on the road but generally about as good as you can get in terms of reliability. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

The O/P never mentioned that reliability was a deciding factor for them?
People rarely put reliabity high up on their list of priorities, and I'll never understand that, even if I live to be 100.
These same people though can always be found on forums, complaining that they should get their money back, that the garage ripped them off, that they have had no car for 4 weeks etc etc.
I'll say it again as I have in other threads, they should be buying reliable (Japanese or perhaps Korean cars), living with the slightly lesser image, but having a much more pleasant and cost-effective ownership experience.
I don't understand why perceived image is always the number 1 priority - however 'flash' you think your car is, there is always a better one in the car park...And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
to be honest if you're buying a newish car, chances are you won't keep driving it 5-10 years time. Probablyl sell it and upgrade to a new one
so reliability won't matter. All cars are reliable for the first 3-4 years.0 -

They're really not, dude.
Please refer to post #7, and if in the event you think that may be a one-off, I'll happily post similar links all day, and all night. And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
Audi every time. I've owned 3 Audis will never have a BMW even if it's the last car on earth.0

Do you read the posts on this site? Have a look at the last 12 months and see how many complaints there are about new cars. A lot more than you think.
Bought a new car and its got issues they cannot fix, Or its been back so many times or its just a lemon.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

This site is hardly a representative sample. People usually post on internet forums because they have a problem or an axe to grind. You don't see many people posting to say how good their car is as they are happily getting on with life and enjoying their car."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"
