To be honest if it were me i'd think rollocks to the bloke - its a public highway !!!!!!, providing you are as you say not causing any obstruction or parking illegally there is nothing the bloke can do.
You have a few choices as I see it:
Park some where else to avoid any more hassle from this ignoramus.
If you want to carry on parking there then start a diary of the abuse you are getting off him and the other farts that way you can give it to the plod if required later
If you have a mobile phone you could also tape the abuse
If the abuse carries on then make an official complaint to the police - they will investigate it and if needed will act on the persons involvedYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
I'm going to assume your parking reasonably (not blocking a driveway/etc) and they're just being funny !!!!!!s, are they retirement age and not working by any chance?
You could call the Police (on 101, not 999) and complain about threatening behaviour, as long as you get a reference number then for something simple like this they'll almost certainly send someone around to have a word.
Then once it's on record, if any damage occurs to your vehicle, you'll have no problem convincing them who it was.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The OP wouldn't have any evidence of who caused the damage tho.0 -
OP, I guess you have a modern mobile phone, why not video the threatening behavior from these people and show the police, these people don't own the road, yes it can be irritating that non residents are parking in the street, however as long as the car is legal, ie taxed, insured and MOT'd and there are no parking restrictions in force then you are doing nothing wrong.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

You have no idea how annoying it is to see people arriving in your road and swanning off elsewhere all day like your road is their personal car park.
Why can't you park where you are at college? Does it have no car park?
At least that's an honest statement. And I bet you wish there was something stronger you could do to stop them doing that. Maybe penalise them financially so they would stop?
That's the dilemma facing anyone who doesn't want someone leaving their car where it is not wanted. It all depends upon which side of the fence you are on.
I am not knocking your post or any of your advice, in fact I have been as frustrated with people parking in a street with limited parking where I lived some time ago in London.0 -
Like everybody else has said, if you're parking legally and courteously, i wouldnt stop parking there.
I live in a street of terraced houses, no driveways, so it's on the road parking. We're 5 minutes walk out of the centre of town, so every day council workers, local Housing association workers (as the offices are very near and weren't built with adequate parking) and teachers from the local school park in the street, and it gets annoying. However as residents we know that the reality is they arent doing anything wrong. We have taken it on ourselves to harass the local MP into have parking restrictions imposed, which will mean we all have to buy residents parking permits for our cars. but its the legal way of stopping a nuisance. for example, i finish work at 12 on fridays, go home, and then go shopping in the car. some weeks i have returned from food shopping and not even been able to park in the street, so have to park outside someone elses property (thus being a nuisance to them!) and carry shopping home, so it's up to Mr and Mrs Grumpy to involve their MP if they aren't happy.
If they threaten you again, simply reply with "if you continue to threaten me i will call the police." remember, you are not doing anything illegal. If you were causing a problem it's up to them to be grown up, approach you respectfully, explain their predicament and hope you would comply.0 -

No but a little chat may prevent the damage in the first place!0 -

He/They are potentially committing a criminal offence by using words and actions likely to cause alarm, fear or implied threat.
If you feel threatened or in fear then report it to the Police. Also if they issue any consequential statements such as if,then eg if you keep parking their i will do x/y/z that is a direct or implied threat. This kind of thing can escalate.
His behaviour is unreasonable.
You have a legal right to park and your presence is transitory i.e whilst dropping child off.
I would encourage you to report this to the police and they will likely send a PCSO round to have a word.
This kind of thing can escalate and you could save someone from being attacked or their property damaged.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
