Life's little coincidences

I've just seen a van parked outside that came from where I used to live.
It had had it's sign writing taken off but the sun was shining on the side of the van and it highlighted the old name and phone number in shadow form iyswim.
I found it rather coincidental that a van that had come from there should now be visiting someone here, despite having been sold on and is now owned by someone new.
I spoke to the driver but I think he thought I was daft.
Have you ever picked up on things that seem a little out of the norm or coincidental?

I find this quite interesting. There was something on tv a while back which told a few stories of coincidences. There was a man walking near a phone box when the phone started ringing. He answered it and it was someone ringing him but had dialled one digit wrong. Well, it was something like that, it is a while back. But it was full of coincidences you could hardly believe.
I think there is a word for it when it seems more of a coincidence .....is it serendipity ?0 -
I know what you mean but there's a bit of nostalgia there as well as the coincidence. I used to love seeing cars with the vehicle registration of my old home town. Then I'd look closely for a sticker to see if I knew the garage that'd sold it. Unfortunately new registration system has put paid to that but I do see a really old banger occasionally.0

Long ago I was a student in a major city. I lived in a shared house in the suburbs. One day I was in the city centre and bought a vintage book on the market. When I got home I opened the front cover and found someone had already written my address in.
I still have the book, but I don't live at that address.I am the Cat who walks alone0 -
When I was a kid , we moved abroad with my dad's work, I went to a small British school, 1 boy in my class of just 10 kid's was born 10 minutes before me a few miles away from the hospital I was born in back home in Scotland! Out of that tiny class 6 kid's had birthdays within 4 day's of each otherBooo!!!0

This article is quite interesting on the 'birthday coincidence' thing - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_problem. Where I used to work, perhaps ten or fifteen of us in total, three of us had the exact same birthday.0 -
Something I always notice is whenever I go on holiday, I almost always see someone I recognise from 'back home'. I usually don't know them, just recognise the face, so it's strange that out of all the holiday destinations in the world, two people from the same place would choose to go exactly there at the same time!0

Yep. Couple of years ago walking along an almost empty beach in Wales (in freezing August) the other family walking towards us was DD's best friends family, and DD's best friend. Just arrived at the very small village for the week, as we had.
DD was too young to understand that this wasn't Normal.I am the Cat who walks alone0 -
We were in Disney world Florida and got talking to some people from the north east UK about 20 miles from where we live . They were neighbours of DD's ex boyfriend !0

went backpacking to Oz twenty three years ago... suddenly a girl walks into our room to stay who I used to go to school with 10 years previously who was the year below me. We were 12,000 miles away from home, in Queensland in one of about 20 places to stay, in one of around 20 rooms! Had lovely time catching up. Roll on 9 years I'd moved back home but to a town 120 miles away from where I went to school, got into a lift in Marks and Spencers, and low and behold the same girl joined me, baby in tow - and had moved within 8 miles of my new house! amazing!0
