What's wrong with it being an ex hire car? The hire companies generally only keep them for 6 months and they never put more than 10,000 miles on them. I wouldn't have an issue with this.

There was just over 40,000 miles on the clock when bought. I don't remember seeing the V5 before I purchased it as there was so many problems when buying it I just signed the paperwork without properly looking.

Down to you then. You've got no chance rejecting it after 12 months because you didn't check the v5 or ask.

But still they should of told me when buying the car that it was an ex hire car???

It's time to take responsibility for your own mistakes - so many people are after blaming someone else.

YOU should have asked if it was ex-hire if you were bothered by it - so many Insignias are hire cars.

It makes no difference to how many owners the car has had, and subsequently you were not mis-sold the vehicle.

It's a lesson, ask in future. You haven't got a chance in hell of getting a refund now, it's mad to even think you would have a shot of doing that after 12 months.

Edit: Just seen you say you just signed the paperwork without properly looking, yet blame them for not telling you. Take responsibility for your inactions.

This is not the way to buy a car. ALWAYS look at the V5 and all associated paperwork. You should never rely on a dealer to tell you everything under the sun, you should ask questions and do your research.

The problems it has had are a different matter.

I've never heard of a hire car having that sort of miles. Reg Vardy made a fortune out of selling ex hire cars. All had between 100-10,000 miles on the clock. I viewed quite a lot there on more than one occasion.

Rental cars only have upto 10,000 on them. How old was it when you bought it? as they only keep them for6-9 months.

Sounds like you could be the third owner?

moving on - you say there was so many problems when buying it, yet you still signed the dotted line? Are you mad or just barking mad?

As for buying a car with "one careful owner" - how would anyone know how careful a car had been driven?

My dads Accord gets washed every weekend and always looks brilliant for the age it is. Yet it rarely gets out of third gear and I cant remember the last time it went over 30mph in the 7 years he's had it lol.

When I get the car back I will just for you put a picture on of the documentation when I bought it, I think it was 41,000 miles around that anyway it got to 50,000 miles the other day when I was taking it to the garage. I've had it 12 months there is no way I could do that sort of mileage I work from home.

Harveybobbles agress with me. Sounds to me more like this was used as a company car rather than a hire car.

Read my post - there's no point pursuing this with a view to a refund.

It's on a 60 plate and I bought it January 21st 2012 with around 41,000 miles on the clock.

I think I must be barking mad sometimes depends what the definition is lol.

You see it all the time in the Auto Trader 1 careful lady owner lol. I've always driven my cars carefully always hand washed etc. We all know hire cars are not treated with the same respect.
