So there is no way to get solid fuel back boiler replaced for condensing gas boiler on Green Deal without paying any upfront cost?
What happened to the cost being added to electricity bill on Green Deal finance?
Also most if not all Green Deal installers won't be local trusted tradesmen, as they will all have plenty of their own organic customers and won't need to pimp themselves out on schemes.0 -

It depends on every individual property and the individual occupants, it may or it may not be possible. But what people don't understand, is the golden rule.
The finance available that is added to the electricity bill is limited to the savings made by the measure shown on the report.
So if there is a very old heating system, the whole heating system may need to be upgraded to be compatible with a modern boiler.
Actually most green deal companies will sub to local trusted tradesmen, this is how pretty much the whole construction industry works. Individual companies hold the relevant certifications, and find local tradesmen with the right skills to complete the work."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -

Ok that workedlol
cptn I tried to quote you, anyway, I called an installer who said I would have to have the boiler and rads etc fitted by him, if the boiler is free, then pay the extra, he said he wasnt allowed to fit a part system under the scheme as he would in effect not be leaving me with a working energy saving measure.0 -

He would have to fit the boiler to a heating system (radiators etc) but he would not have to fit the radiators etc.
Does that make sense? From what I remember were you going to fit the radiators and all the plumbing your self? You need to do this first and then the installer can fit the boiler to it.
He can't just fit a boiler onto the wall not connected to anything and then you get the cashback."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -

captainhindsight wrote: »On a standard boiler installation for this scheme expect to pay around £2500 all in. This would include condensing gas boiler, gas flue heat recovery and the green deal advice report. Then this will get you minimum £1100 cash back .
I would go to the installer for the assessment as they will have agreements with an assessor company to make it as smooth as possible.
In your situation with a vertical flue expect to pay around £3000 for what I mentioned above.
The extra measure is only adding no more than £500 to the install cost so with the minimum cash back you should always be at least £500 better off.
do those on certain benefits get it free of charge?0
