I've heard some more about changes to CERO. According to an installer I am in touch with, CWI is likely to be available 1st July, loft insulation is delayed until October.
Have you heard about these changes or similar captainhindsight?0 -
I just had a call from someone from the 'Home Energy Trust UK saying that they could give me money off new boiler, cavity wall insulation, double glazing etc etc through government money. I have come on here as I didnt know anything about it and wanted to find out more.
We are planning to have double glazing put in and agreed with this person to have someone from a local window company to come round this week to quote us and offer us the money off. Nothing was said about payment to an assessor. I am v v confused! Is this normal practice with this deal or should I be smelling a rat? We do not qualify for any sort of benefits related freebies.0 -

Yea, i've herd loads of different dates been quoted but tbh I cant say for sure because all the dates given to us so far when the date comes we've had an excuse as to why nothing as happened or is happening and then given another date.
I have spoken directly with the person responsible for this in DECC and he has said the only thing he can say is that it will be definitely be inplace before the recess 22 July...
The whole industry is pretty much at a standstill until something happens and they are getting a lot of pressure from us and consumers to do something about it.

The green deal cashback, or the home improvement fund both are legitimate schemes that do exist and give you loads of money off windows, boilers, insulation etc... and require no longterm commitment or financeplan you just have to jump through the right hoops.
but that does not mean this company is legitimate.
TO be able to offer this scheme they must be listed here if you cannot find them on that list politely tell them to go away and use a company off that list. as it is definitely worth taking advantage of the cashback available."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -
Anyone know if British Gas actually do Green Deal finance yet?
I'm thinking of getting a £99 Green Deal assessment done by WarmUpNorth who are backed by British Gas, but don't want to waste my time and money if I can't actually get the measures done because they don't do finance yet.0 -

Not sure about british gas but plenty of Green Deal Providers are available to get you a green deal plan. You do not need to go to your energy supplier or any of the big six for this."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -

I was wanting to go with WarmUpNorth as they are backed by the local council in association with British Gas. Not because they are my supplier.
But who do I know is a real Green Deal provider from start to finish or just someone doing one part but not the rest.0 -

At this rate I'm surprised the installers can keep going. Cash flow management must be a bit of a nightmare?
Yea it is! A lot of companies have gone under and a lot of people lost there jobs due to this very extended period of uncertainty. Luckily we offer other services not just this so it hasn't been too bad for us."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -
