Had a Green Deal assessment carried out months ago on my solid walled house. Told would be eligble for ECO funding for solid wall insulation. Received EPC but despite many calls and emails nothing more heard from assessor.
Anyone know of a provider who will do internal wall insulation on green deal in Yorkshire?
Steve
Without going into the history and calamities that are the Green Deal. Most of tghe SME's that were dragged into [HTT] hard to treat by the DECC roadshows have been offered very little Green Deal funding for [EWI] external wall insulation. Even if zi££ions of funding was available very few householders have chosen to take up the offer not only is 100% funding not available, but even with a full 50% funded by [ECO] Energy Companies Obligation its still not financially attractive enough for a customer to take up.
CESP - Community Energy Saving Programme
GDF - Green Deal finance
ECO - Energy Company Obligation
CSO - Carbon Emission Reduction Obligation
Affordable Warmth - Home Heat Cost Reduction Obligation
CSCO - the one people don't appear to know about the Carbon Saving Communities Obligation, designed to upgrade homes in the most deprived communities in the UK.
The Carbon Saving Obligation (worth around £760 million per year) will be available for energy efficiency measures in harder to treat homes, ie packages of measures that include solid wall or hard to treat cavity insulation the Carbon Saving Communities obligation (worth around £190 million per year) will deliver insulation measures targeted at areas of low income, defined using the bottom 15% of Lower Super Output Areas from the Indices of Multiple Deprivation in England, Wales and Scotland - suppliers will be required to deliver 15% of their overall Carbon Saving Communities obligation to rural, low income households in settlements with a population size under 10,000Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. S.E.R.S. are just one more of the one more delivering boilers, solar PV etc as a registered Green Deal provider. Their niche claim is to deliver HTT but they do anything for money. They did a £1.5m series of both internal insulation and 60mm external EPS board to 300 trad-brick terraced old mining village homes just 15 minutes from where I live, and a very nice job too. They tend to partner with LA's and HA's and British Gas and do everything from a single wholly owned unit like John_Pierpoint's home to a 16 storey block of flats or 300 council owned homes.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. My 82 year old mother who lives on her own,(only income is her state pension) has had a green deal assessment carried out by Helms. Recommendations are external wall insulation, solar panels and under floor insulation and was told that her details would be passed on to the finance team who would check what funding would be available to her. She has now had another representative call to tell her that the cost of these improvements would cost her £2000 and she is not eligible for green deal finance due to her age. My mum explained that she couldn't fund this and at this point it was suggested that I should consider taking out an interest free credit card to fund this project for my mum and that I should have a look at the martin Lewis website to find the best cards with 0%. He told us that he really needed to know TODAY if we were going to go ahead with the work, because if we couldn't sign up today the money allocated for the work to my mum's house would then be passed onto the next house and she wouldn't be able to apply again until next year when the funding may or may not be available. I explained that I wanted time to have a look at my finances and he agreed that he could give me 2 days to get back to him. Just wondered if anyone else has felt under pressure to sign up for energy efficient improvements.0

Do not be pressurized into signing up to anything give them nothing, What are they going to actually install for £2000 anyhow, Trust me there is no rush to sign up you have plenty of time0 -
CHRISTIAN - they all look like this,
as penrhyn says they're there to empty your 82 year old mother's pockets. The Green Deal is filled with 'del boys' using high-pressure sales tactics, dodgy information and poor installations and the old trick of only available at a discount to your your 82 year old mother if they were bought immediately.
