Well, it has been repeated before, but I'm not sure whether the election will affect things...0

Got my application in on time. The providers decided to apply on my behalf and forgot to apply for homebuyers bonus, even though I told them that I am capable of applying myself.
Anyway had to wait two hours for the application to expire, to apply again, insisting strongly that I make the application. They listened this time.0 -
I applied for EWI this morning and the application has gone off without a hitch, assuming they don't come back for more information, does anyone know how long it takes for the voucher to come through? We're renovating our house at the moment so would like to get on as soon as possible so we can move in!0

So, we bought this house in December 2014. It;s a 3 bed semi with single glazed windows, little loft insulation and no cavity wall insulation. This was confirmed in the EPC which I have.
I've already had quotes for double glazing and composite doors, haggled down to £5k. I'd like to go ahead with this and was going to get a loan to finance it.
I'm also looking to have Britsh Gas do the cavity wall and loft insulation once I get the electrical rewire done.
So, if I go with the quote for double glazing that I have can I claim some cashback? and how on earth do I go about it? I can't even find a double glazing provider registered with the scheme locally (Risca South Wales)
Any help with the double glazing cost would be great, but I don't want to be doing it on their extended loan paid from the anticipated savings gig, especially as I might move in 2 years time.
Any help or advice on how I should proceed would be most welcome.0 -
Am I too late for this? I own my home and have EPC's all setup online?0

I got my voucher in the five working days quoted in the application confirmation email. Took over two months to get my money once I submitted the claim though! Good luck with it all.0 -

I believe you need to have an agreement from a Green Deal installer for the measures you wish to install and the measures must be recommended on your EPC. Hope that helps.
Here is the link to the latest T&C's:

Thanks! I have to admit I'm bad for not reading the fine print. I don't mind waiting for the reimbursement as we were going to pay it anyway before we found out about the deal but good to know we can get the money back later0 -

You're welcome! Just make sure your installers know how to complete the paperwork correctly (and the have the correct paperwork) when it's time to submit your claim and make sure your invoice actually says 'Invoice' on it. Seems obvious, but I paid for my work online so got a 'receipt for payment' and that was rejected.0 -

Your windows and doors qualify as two measures and you'd also be entitled to the homebuyer bonus, so £1500 altogether. You don't need to take out Green Deal finance. I had to go with Anglian, but they can be haggled down too. Their loan scheme gets you the best price, but ignore their warnings about minimum terms - you can usually pay it off when you like (if with Hitachi Finance). Have you considered getting a 0% credit card to pay for the work? Might be worth it if you're looking for a short term loan. Assume you're going for the free insulation with British Gas? Just make sure they put it in writing as they tried to charge me for mine! Happy renovating, but be quick if you want to apply as the schemes run out rapidly.0
