Thanks for the quick reply 'Smiley Dan'. I was hoping to replace the 3 heaters in my flat but sounds like i don't have enough areas of improvement on the EPC to do it under this scheme

We bought a house last year which needed lots of improvements. We have put in double glazed windows, wall cavity insulation and we still need to have loft insulation.
Does anyone know if we still benefit from the home improvement fund as we have already done two out our three things? I was hoping we would get money back for the double glazed windows that we had fitted and the wall cavity insulation?

You can commission a GDAR which is more in depth and suggests more improvements. And you get the money back if you take up the measures on the GDHIF.

But as far as I can see it's pretty difficult to qualify for two measures for most people.

You must have applied for the voucher before the work commenced unfortunately.

Loft insulation isn't covered, but see my reply above.

Thanks smiley Dan. You seem to be very knowledgable, could you list the 11 improvements and their criteria eg. 50% of windows to qualify etc. Or post a link to where this info is held? I think it would be useful.

Sorry I should've done it in the first place. It's hidden away here: https://energy-saving-home-improvement-fund.service.gov.uk/Downloads/GDHIF2_TermsAndConditions.pdf - see Annex A.

One interesting criteria they might've missed and may be possible for the more ambitious home owner may be to add secondary glazing to existing double glazing (some call this tertiary glazing).

There's nothing explicit I can see disallowing this in the Ts&Cs.

If you have old 2G windows (U value about 3) then it can make a noticeable difference to add secondary glazing. The trouble is the hassle of not being able to open windows (it works best when properly air sealed).

The Ts&Cs aren't that clear. Part A.1 of the eligibility criteria state you must be the owner or occupier of *a* property. I guess that just means all non-homeless people can apply. There doesn't appear to be anything explicit to link ownership or residence to the property affected.

Part C.8 would suggest you cannot claim the homebuyer's bonus though because you are not in ownership of the house.

Note that you need an EPC for the property showing the measures to be installed.

we've got the EPC (was done in january) - just not any proof of ownership yet...

as we havent even had a quote for the work yet, i guess we'll just have to wait till the next round of funding (if it happens - is it something that will definitely happen again in a few months time? if so i guess we can wait to get the warm air unit replaced, just a case of bad timing, if only it was in a few weeks time!)
