  • Why oh why OH WHY is veg/healthy stuff so much dearer than junk food?! If I'd spent £17 on choc and crisps I'd have come away with bags of stuff and a heck of a lot more than 9 items!!! You'd think someone should be encouraging us to eat more healthily!!

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!

    Rant over :D

You ought to go down to your local market. I used to live a minute walk from Walthamstow Market, one of the biggest in the country, and there used continual brilliant value for money across the board in fruit and veg. For example, I remember getting 14 carrots for 50p, or 10 Granny Smith apples for a pound. Also once, eight fresh figs for a £1 - I think at the time, the local Sainsburys was charging £2 for 4, so definitely a bargain! :T

Seriously have a look in the local market - will 99% of the time be MUCH MUCH cheaper for fruit and veg. It's a shame now that I don't live anywhere near a market that does fruit and veg. :(

Very very few markets of the variety you mean here in Northern Ireland , and those we do have are weekly or monthly

The only ethnic shops within 40 miles of me are polish

Unless its carrots and spuds bought from the van at the side of the road, very little lee way on fruit and veg

For me it's lunch if we are out or having a sandwich, but dinner if its cooked in the house :D
  • Chicken's not a vegetable. Just saying.

    :rotfl:

Think you're the first one to comment on that!! I'll stick to Mr T or A for that ingredient!!! ;)

And agree with suki1964. Us folk over here aren't quite so privileged! :p
