Breakfast is at 7am and again (at work) at 9am.
Elevenses is at around 10.30am.
Lunch is eaten at dinner time. Dinner is what we eat at teatime (between 5-7pm).............unless it has chips in it, in which case, we call it tea. As in "Do you want chips for tea?"
Supper is cheese on toast (with tea, the beverage) at approx 10pm.
Glad to have cleared that up!
(And buy your salad at a market or ethnic shop....way cheaper!)"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

Potteries dialect dictates that you don't have butties, or even sandwiches. Those things you take to work for 'dinner' are your 'pieces'.0 -
Junk food is cheaper than fresh for a few very simple reasons:
The basic ingredients are cheap and it generally has a much longer shelf life.
A lot of the items on your list would have been imported and most of them will have a shelf life of a few days. They are bulky, and they also need to be transported and stored carefully and treated with some delicacy (at least compared to most junk food).
Compare an contrast with high carb/high sugar junk food that uses cheap ingredients which, even if they have to be imported, have a much greater energy density and longer storage life. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
I've always had breakfast, then if my midday meal is hot, it's dinner, because then i'd have a cold evening meal as "tea."
If the midday meal is cold, I call it lunch, and the hot evening meal would be dinner.0 -

I was born in London and have lived there or in the SE for most of my life.
And yet I always have and always will call my main evening meal tea. (I've no idea why I seem to be at odds with other southerners.)
But it doesn't 'alf annoy SE locals. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
