I am in stitches at you all

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner on a work day

Brunch and Dinner on a weekend

But also reminds me of the time we went to a pub for a meal - DS aged about 9 (10 years ago) wanted Chicken Nuggets and Chips , but there was Chicken Goujons and French Fries on the menu.

    He asks, "What's the difference?"

I look at the menu and reply, "about £2.50".

    £5.75 for a child's meal

Should have tried Lidl or Aldi, may not have got the garlic flat bread though. It would have been cheaper.

As for Dinner. This is the evening meal for us, as we have a lunch break in the middle of the day, not a dinner break. ;)

I have this argument with my wife all the time.

She calls the evening meal "dinner" whereas I call the mid-day meal "dinner".

I do point out that how come at school they are called dinnerladies (including her mum) therefore I am right. She just points out that obviously she is right as she always is.

But you put the child's sandwiches in a LUNCHBOX not a dinner box! :D

Ah this thread is making me laugh!!!!

Don't have an Aldi in this part of the country sorry Mrs Arcanum, and Lidl too far away to walk during my lunch break ;)

Just thinking: we referred to the 'bell' at 1pm at school as the 'dinner' bell... :o

Also I'm kinda getting the impression that it depends on the temperature of the meal between 12-2pm as to what it's referred to as...!! lol

Breakfast - food consumed just after waking.

Dinner - meal eaten in the middle of the day. DD has a hot dinner or sandwiches at school). It's her sandwich bag.

Tea - meal eaten in the evening between 5 & 7pm.

    No supper.

We have afters , it's only dessert if we're eating out.

Don't do Sunday Lunch, have the roast at tea time, never have.

Christmas Dinner is has always been at mid-late afternoon for me.
