I posted as a rant and then I got jumped on. I then continued to post to try and defend my position.

    In reality, they are not.

Plus, why is everyone jumping on me as if it was a 99p item? It wasn't!

You don't know whos at the other end - so don't pretend you do. They could be dying for all you know - or have a sick relative. Not saying it gives sellers an excuse - but this one as done NOTHING wrong. I believe he thought it would be a packet price - but it wasn't. Even is thats not the case - tough - you did not have to bid.

    You can't.

If the post and packaging had been lower - the price would have been higher. Total cost = SAME!!! It aint rocket science.

As for the packaging being poor - fine - mention that in feedback. But it was an item of clothing - not a chandelier.

As a seller, if I had overcharged, then I would refund the difference to reflect this. Maybe that is why I have no low DSR's for postage and my seller has at least one now ;)

Why does a dying eBay seller/sick dying relative mean that it's ok to overcharge on postage though? Surely this would more likely affect their dispatch time. Your argument is as ridiculous as most people seem to think that mine is.

I thought the postage was unreasonable. It's 'only a buyers opinion'

The fact is you can't get away with charging that much over stamp price and keep your ebay account. I have had 3 stars for charging 30p over! It's not whether it's right or not, if you charge that much over you will lose your account eventually.

For what it's worth I would've been annoyed with that overcharge too. If the seller had said yes sorry I thought it would go as packet then I would have let them off.

Then you wouldn't keep your account for very long then. I refund if an item has gone as large letter instead of packet.

    Errm - didn't i say it was.

I spent Christmas day in 2 hosptals visiting intensive care. Despite this - i still dealt with items i had sold on Ebay - because i hate letting people down.

Luckily you didnt email me that day - or you would have got it both barrels for being a nasty little scammer. You agreed a price - and you are trying it on.

I have no low stars either - but i dont leave them for people sending me an item at an agreed price - its just nasty - sorry - but it is.

    Enjoy your evening.
