I had used the words 'crib,' yarn,' and 'trash' in a fb post and she posted that crib = cot, yarn = wool, and trash = rubbish. I already know this, but that post was mainly aimed at my US family and friends. Also, to me, unless it's been shaved off a sheep, it's not wool!
Oh for goodness sake.
I know someone who used to live in Canada when she was young but moved here maybe 40 years ago and still says trash. Who cares? plus, my sister has now emigrated there, and im always joking like - stop using canadian words, youre British! lol So I dont think just because you move somewhere you need to alter the way you speak for words like that.
Lets face it with a lot of tv and films being American I think we all know what they mean!!
Hopefully she did just mean it in a joking manner.0 -

Always lurking. Tonight we are checking out potential 'recovery' holiday options! thinking about a Caribbean cruise. I always think cruises are for old people.... but maybe I can justify it as a sick person too!0 -
Mrs TM I say yarn too cos if its acrylic then it ain't wool! I take it she's not a knitter cos all the knitters I know say yarn.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Have been up for a little over half an hour and have already looked through the garage for anything I can use to make a trellis or use as stakes with yarn for a trellis for my peas! I also have pea seed soaking so that I can plant them tomorrow. Really do need to keep my eyes open and go out for a long walk early Tuesday morning (recycling day here) to see if I can find any odd bits of wood, old brooms/mops for their handles and the like. I also need more milk jugs for another rack of strawberries.
Gardening: much cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes!(insert your favourite veg or fruit here)
I think today is the first day this month I haven't been bleeding! Woohoo! Now watch me do something stupid like cut my finger today.... :rotfl:0 -
T2D - go for it, cruises aren't just for old people anymore, granted they are still in the majority but younger passengers are growing. I've been on about 4 cruises now and we just did the Caribbean in November. Beautiful and so relaxing!

Morning all,
T2D - A cruise sounds fantastic....actually anywhere with some sunshine and pre cooked food sounds amazing:rotfl:
Mrs T_M - My mum is a knitter and she knows the difference;)
afm. I am 15dpo but two different tests say BFN so AF will probably show her face with avengence some time today. It is rare that I make it to the FF testing day so couldn't help but be a little hopeful this morning:(0 -
T2D-I don't want to sound like a party pooper, but my mum was advised by her oncology people not to go abroad on a hot holiday for 6 months post chemo, I have no idea the reasoning behind it-she was fine for short breaks within the UK, but a proper holiday was a definite no. Maybe check with your consultant.
Mrs TM-I call yarn yarn, only wool if it is wool0
