Angel treats when you say sample size is that literally the size of the sample including all the seminal fluid etc?

I know sometimes when we bd there is sometimes a lot more than other times so I think it can definitely fluctuate.

My DH takes zinc tablets, walnuts and tries to eat healthily. And saunas and steam rooms banned.

Can I ask how did you get them to agree to doing the testing before 12 months?

Yes that was the size of the entire sample, apparently he managed not to spill a drop. He said at the time he was disappointed by the volume and I laughed it off and said I was sure it was normal.

Apparently if you're under 5 million per ml (so if you had a normal volume of say 2 ml you'd have 10 million swimmers), you'll be referred for ICSI. DH is 3 million per ml and he only had 1 ml, so only 3 million sperm in total which is horribly low isn't it? The only good thing is that apparently motility was normal.

I've bought some Wellman Conception vitamins for him and some of the women's ones for me but we'll be repeating the test before they'll have a chance to kick in as the doc wants it done straight away.

Originally they were testing me for various things because of a recurrent abdominal pain I was having but when it was discussed that we had only been actively trying (charting, opks etc) for nine months (ten now) but had been NTNP for ages and hadn't used any contraception since I came off depo which is probably two and a half years ago now, the doc seemed to agree that something was probably amiss.

I couldn't sleep last night so spent hours googling about sperm counts and how to increase it and when you would or wouldn't be referred for IVF. Unless the sample was somehow completely wrong, I don't fancy our chances of conceiving naturally unless DH can somehow be helped, like if it's a blockage that can be unblocked etc.

We've had the inlaws here since Friday and I've managed to hold it together, but they've just left and I'm not sure how long I can stop myself from having a meltdown.

    I'm SO EXCITED!!!

Over the weekend away I decided to teach my fur baby (2 YO Labrador) to swim, hes always liked water but never actually swam and its such good exercise. I went in the sea with him and tried to make him come in with me, he didn't wanna, so eventually I tried putting his lead on and (gently) dragging him to me. He did swim a bit when I made him but I was very disappointed, I didn't want to push it and give him a phobia so I left it, and he ran from the water.

Today we took him for a walk to a lake and did our usual thing of throwing in a stick then another one a little bit further etc. and... HE SWAM! Properly, stick after stick! I'm so proud :D

Sorry, nothing to do with TTC but made me delighted and had to share!

ah pickle, we had the same with our dog. I don't think he'd ever been swimming before and he was too scared to jump into deep water but when we took him to the beach we were going deeper into the water with treats and he had to swim to us and we were so happy he was swimming. Now we take him to the river and he swims into deep water to retrieve his ball.

Considering going to the doctor tomorrow which seems an over reaction to a random long cycle especially given they've been quite dismissive of my concerns so far. But combined with the massive weight gain recently and the massive spots, the endless almost positive opks and ewcm are concerning and I'm hoping I get a doctor who doesn't just say sex at CD14 at me. Should I go or am I just being a drama queen and wasting time?

    Hey ladies

It's worth a try with the doctors code at worst they'll just tell you to go away but you may get lucky and find a sympathetic one.

Hugs for the test results angeltreats hopefully it was just an anomaly and the next one will be better how's you oh holding up? I should imagine he's finding it pretty tough so hugs to him too.

Bex and pm I'm so sorry your journey has been made more difficult by other people's mistakes hugs to you x

I've been having a tough time this tww I just want to be pg again but my consolation prize will hopefully be a longer lp the past few months I started spotting at 7dpo and got full flow at 8dpo so already it's an improvement yay! Sometimes we just have to cling to the small victories I suppose

    Hugs to all x

Partmouse - It sucks doesn't it. I feel bad for moaning because I know that we are lucky to get free healthcare in this country but it is frustrating to think its potentially caused problems for me and definitely caused problems for you xxx

I've not had an hsg yet... Doctor agreed I should have one sooner rather than later, just waiting for hubby SA. I just feel like there must be damage because I was 11 at the time and after the second op I had bleeding to the extent that my mum thought I'd coincidentally started my periods. I hadn't so it worries me that it caused bleeding. I talked to my mum about it recently and she said none of the doctors mentioned any fertility stuff at the time but that I was so poorly that the fact that I was alive was all they were thinking about. I only found out through dr google that peritonitis could affect fertility and I feel so annoyed that nobody told me or my parents at the time. I would have started TTC much earlier if I'd been aware there could be problems from the op. How old were you and did anyone mention fertility stuff to you? xx

I'm quite lucky as my cycles seem relatively ok and I'm getting positive OPKs so hopefully I am ovulating and I don't have pcos. Had some initial blood tests done which showed my hormones seem ok too.

Sjlou - hugs for the bfn xx I was keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Lannieduck - good luck tomorrow! Well done for excellent willpower!:)

Picklekin - hope you had a great holiday and fingers crossed in 9 months time you will have a new forest baby....I've heard Tree & Leaf are popular names right now ;)

I really hope you don't have any damage but its good your having investigations,IMO an hsg would be great idea for you. It's also really good news your blood work looks normal and no pcos pluses +opk.

At the time I was 17 and nothing was ever said about fertility being damaged, spent 2 weeks in hosp. I'n the last 13 years have been ntnp with no sniff of a bfp:(:( I feel very unhopeful with my very bad pcos and a huge amount of time ntnp.

    Xx

Still no AF yet. Going to test again tomorrow or Tues morning. I would do it tomorrow, but I'm on holiday and just have the one test stick with me... so don't want to test too early!

If you are definitely 17dpo you must be preggers! Test!

Angel treats let it out. If you need to scream & cry do it because it will come out in the end & you might feel better for it xx
