Trying for a Baby Part 9

Due to the surprise peak reading we managed to squeeze in one BD this cycle. By the way I love the phrase 'sex panda' and I'll definitely be using that one to describe my hubbie, although I think I'll have to restrict it to anonymous online usage. :rotfl:
Popped into Vision Express and managed to spend enough for a small holiday on two pairs of glasses! As someone who has never needed glasses before I was shocked at how much they cost, although perhaps I didn't need to buy two designer pairs (Ted Baker and Ralph Lauren).Although I'm having one pair with reactive lenses so I won't need to buy sunglasses anymore. I got the trendy plastic frames and I'm even looking forward to getting them. I thought they were funky, professional and even a bit sexy so thanks to all of you for your comments.
Also hubbie has booked an appointment with his GP to get a SA. Can anyone tell me whether this is done at a hospital or how long it takes to get the results?
Babymad - I find the CBFM most useful at knowing when I ovulated so that we continue dtd until then and know when to stop. We tend to start BD every other day from CD10 even if I don't have a high reading yet as the sperm will still be alive for days after and may catch an earlier ovulation date.
Twigpig - I'm trying to cook more and have been bulk cooking something on a sunday and then freezing portions for later use. I currently have some lamb burgers, Bolognese and meatballs in passata ready for use. Another quick and healthy meal to cook during the week is fish, as I sometimes dust a lemon sole in flour and pan fry with potatoes.
Tashatutuw - What's a chocolate coca cola cake??? You must have a very sweet tooth. Don't worry, the thing with a bad day with dieting is that you can start again the next day.
Alice31 - FF predictions are only a guide based on the historical data it has on you. It uses your average cycle lengths, ovulation dates and luteal phase lengths, so if you don't have much history yet then it's a bit of a guess. It's much better to use your own knowledge, the OPKs and your temps. Based on your OPK readings and your temps it looks like you ovulated about CD11, do you usually have a cycle length of 25 days?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

My last cycle was 25 days. I also thought cd11/cd12 but when I input today's temp, FF decided I ov'ed on cd14. I am not sure I believe it but it's my first proper cycle of trying and recording everything so I will know more next month!
Hope your one BD was all you need this month!0 -
Morning ladies.
Congrats Optimistic Mummy.
Dont know whats going on but this period feels much more normal than any I have had since coming of the pill. Normal cramps and a much heavier, redder flow compared to what I have been having. Hopefully I'm finally getting back to normal? Who knows?!
Have had a look into acupuncture - anyone else had experience of this?0 -
Congrats optimisticmummy *big happy hugs*
Morning everyone
I've been working on my temps the last few days but they don't mean much to me yet, but seem to be steadily rising. OH thinks I'm daft so I've started doing it while he's off making the tea! (He's very much of the "it will just happen" train of thought) I'm making my own spreadsheet atm, is FF worth paying for?
I have my scan on Friday and have started to get nervous, a huge part of me hopes they don't find anything wrong but a tiny bit of me oddly hopes they do find something.. something fixable, a switch they can push that says "ON"!0 -

congrats OptimisticMummy - think that's the first BFP since Ive been on the board... Now please all go and catch it - quick everyone!!
Ive not tested yet.....cant bring myself to do it with an expensive test (seems a total waste - Ill save that for when Im wanting a BFP) so Ive ordered a load of cheapies....
Woke up with an eye infection this morning - of course I have, as I am going away for the weekend. Having a bad run of luck...0 -
Made a boo boo. I have a ovulation tester from clearblue. Sorry everyone x3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Morning all
Still in the 2ww here. Why does it feel it will never end? Pretty sure I ovulated this cycle (forgot my CBFM when I went away so not using it this cycle.
In ongoing use of the term kajungas... Mine get huge pre witch - a whole cup size bigger. Dread to think what will happen when I actually get preggers!
Twig pig that is a phenomenal amount of weight loss, go you!
Naomijj hope the tests are ok and you're being looked after while you wait for the results.
Loulou I have similar cycles to you and PCO and have found the CBFM useful, although I would still use ff and keep note of your other symptoms etc. I get lots of highs before my peak, but I've only been using it a few months.
Becca hope the house move went well.
And last but not least, big congrats to optimisticmummy
Good luck to everyone having tests and SA done at the moment. I know how stressful they are!
3 days til the weekend....:rotfl:0 -
Wow! Don't know what's wrong with my usual sex panda of a husband but 3 nights in a row!!! That'll be it now hahaFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140

Congratulations Optimistic Mummy!
Well done on 3 nights in a row Becca! :T Last night I said to OH that it was up to him whether we BD or not *but* it would be good timing... so he decided to read his book and go to sleep!I didn't push it as it won't help if he's not feeling it and I'm at the stage where I don't think it'll do any good anyway.
Hope your scan goes well on Friday picklepin.
Happy new specs Kynthia! It is shocking how expensive they are isn't it?!
Big hugs Amyloofoo, you're right that we don't know how much other women have struggled to get PG when we spend our time feeling jealous of them although that shouldn't make us feel like our pain is any less justified.
I don't know if I've mentioned this already but there's a chap in my office with a 9 month old and his wife is 12 weeks PG! When I teased him about being 'keen' he said that it was a complete shock to them as the first baby was IVF and they'd been told a natural conception wasn't possible... yet here they are with a surprise miracle baby on the way! I think stories like that are so lovely, I also like hearing (in a bit of a grim way) about other people struggling to concieve as it makes me realise I'm not alone.Saying that, OH's friend was telling him how gutted his brother is as he's been TTC with his wife for nearly 6 months and is worried that it hasn't happened... 6 whole months eh?
OH told him to come back and speak to him when it had been a year and 6 months!
