Don't want to upset anyone by asking this - but cant really see a place to ask such a question...
I am still showing as positive on a pregnancy test - despite miscarrying over 2 weeks ago. When will I see a negative? Can I get pregnant while I am still showing as positive??? Getting very frustrated that hormones are still obv in my system.
    Why is nothing simple?

that must be very fustrating Sophiasmum and i don't want to worry you but please get checked out by the EPU- it may be that there is still some tissue left over which is still producing the HCG and if so that can put you at risk of an infection.

i had a missed miscarraige but was showing as negative as soon as my treatment was done and they'd confirmed nothing was left

it's all so unfair, why can't these things either never happen or be really easy to deal with when the do?

Thanks TeamLowe - I did phone EPU but she just said some people take longer to get the hormones out of their system? "Give it another week". I had a natural miscarriage so suppose there could be tissue left? Hm...
I didn't like to ask her about ttc! (As I think I would have got the standard wait a month etc) I have mentally moved on and am ready to try again - physically I also feel fine :)

I have a quick question to all those TTC, do you drink? I have been being pretty "careful" especially in my TWW as I decided that I wouldn't put my life on hold while we tried. However I'm now worrying that my inability to conceive might be due to me drinking? I am a moderate drinker, 4 glasses of wine on Friday/Saturday and nothing all week, less when TWW. What do the rest of you do?

Aside from the caffeine thing, I continue as normal. I very much doubt that a couple of glasses of wine per week makes that much difference. It can't or there'd be no French, Spanish or Italian people. I've been at this for years and it would be a pretty misarable existence if I could only have wine when AF is here. If it worries you, cut down in 2ww but unless you're binge drinking you really don't have to.

Hi ladies, just popping in to say hi whilst eating my lunch! DH and I have taken all morning to tile half of the bathroom, now putting up blinds. Nightmare, can't see how we are going to be ready to move in tomorrow!!!

Sophiasmum - I lost my baby in nov and my midwife at EPU offered me a scan after 3wks to check all had removed naturally. I asked to have it done as although it was very upsetting, I knew if we decided to try again, I would feel better knowing there was nothing still there to stop it as I miscarried naturally too (esp as it had taken 6.5yrs to fall pg!). I also had to do a pg test just before I went and it came back negative. All very upsetting at the time but when I got my BFP in feb, felt reassured there was nothing that could cause infection etc. I'm now 11+4 with fingers still firmly crossed.

Sorry to stalk but its extra special when someone from here gets a BFP! Hugs and sticky baby dust to all xx

Katy29 - That's awful about your workmate, hopefully they've caught it early

Angeltreats - Good for you insisting that the doc does something about getting to the bottom of what's causing your pain.

Codemonkey - I'm with you on the 2WW. i'm trying not to get my hopes up but there is always a part that thinks maybe this month.

Jammy26 - Hugs, it's so hard when you get that BFN.

Sophiasmum - When you have a natural mc it can take weeks for your hormone levels to go down but they should be checking that it is decreasing through weekly blood tests.

Picklekin - I only drink when AF arrives but think I'm a bit para cos I've had mcs and at my age I want to do as much as poss to increase my chances of conceiving.

Becca - Good luck with your house - you'll get there in the end :)

Not much to report from me cos I'm in the 2WW limbo. Hugs to those that need them xx
