I've been watching that on your list, mrs-mp, and thinking "I've got to sew a button on DH's jacket". When you said you'd done it today, I went and dealt with DH's jacket button and another that came off his trousers yesterday. Thank you for giving me the nudge!
    :T

Oooo yes, I've got some badges to sew onyo DD2's bag! Thanks for the nudge; I'll try to get that done tonight....

I agree completely - it's humbling when you think of these amazing women and what they went through/are going through. No moaning from me today ...

2 large boxes of rubbish, 1 pair of supertrashed shoes binned from my room
5th box to go in the loft
a stack of ancient letters binned,
3 empty wrapping paper rolls gone.
Random pile of nails, allen keys, dowels, screwdrivers dumped in am empty shoe box until I next get out to the shed.

OH is now traumatised and saying to just throw everything in the bin.. why are men so dramatic??

It is actually possible to see part of the radiator now!

  • checking in a bit late today ladies, Skint Baby Holly was on an all night milk bender til 7am this morning, if i felt like Daisy the Cow before I feel like a whole herd today. I would like to say she is sleeping off a milky hangover this morning, but I believe she is just making up for lost time:p

Still I have decluttered two breakfasts this morning to make up for the fact I didn't get a chance to pull her off for two seconds in the small hours to keep myself topped up.

So now having a jolly good lurk with a herbal cuppa to help the milk flow:

    flying off list today

    DW x 1
    S&S kitchen
half paperwork pile from LR cupboard sorted into folders, 1/4 sorted into rough piles and 1/4 unlooked at
emergency 40 winks to keep me going (hard going with carpenter sawing and planing away in the background)

Sawdust everywhere upstairs but to be expected, so may save spoons for dealing with that later.

I will check in again later
The cold never bothered me anyway

  • just decluttered DS1s room of abandoned cans crisp packets and packs of sarnis, must ask if if im wasting my time and food doing him pack up as hes obviously not eating it. need o find out what he is having to eat at college, he eats like a horse at home so cant believe he lasts the day on nothing.

I had this DD1, so told her I wasn't going to make her a pack up any more and she isn't bothered at all! She's quite happy spending her own hard earned money (weekend job) on food at college... Not at all MSE but hopefully she'll begin to realise that there's better things to spend her cash on and that savings are a good thing; as they say 'you can't put an old head on young shoulders' so she'll have to work this out for herself...

    Lunch-time check-in :D

Dailies all done :D I've vacuumed the livingroom as well (but only the bits you can see - haven't the energy to shift the sofa today :o) and juggled the freezer since I have a lot of stuff coming for in there this afternoon :D

I also decided that since I only have 3 drawers in the kitchen I'd clean all 3 ;) Blitzed my "baking/small applicances" cupboard which is tiny, but managed to juggle it a little which meant that a tall storage container is now empty (contents now in another box in there) and I dug out my grill and its covered in mould  I thought I'd cleaned it well enough that it wouldn't do that again. Seriously considering giving getting rid and not replacing as I hardly use it now as I prefer the stuff cooked in the remoska which I store in my oven :rotfl:

Just having some lunch, then I think I might do a bit of work on a long-term frog ;) I want to get DD's Brownie uniform framed for her as a c-word pressie but her sash has badges on both sides so I'm just moving them around a little so they all fit on one side ;) She only left a year ago :o

Afternoon all, and hugs to Bossymoo

Made a big effort and put on wm then did teeny bit of spreadsheet stuff before going to gym (believe me, that's a huge effort for me - usually it's up, quick wash, dress, eat banana while collecting gym stuff then out the door in the space of about 15 mins!).

Will be crippled tomorrow as 1st zumba class replaced by a legs bums & tums - quite a nice class but fair bit of using hand weights and I only did body pump (musical weight training for the uninitiated) last night. Tempted to miss the next class which is also "toning" ha ha it's more like advanced ballet - I have the co-ordination and grace of 2 bricks being shaken in a sack - but gritted teeth and did it. Then zumba. After all, if I'd missed a class out I would've had to come home early and attack the kitchen.

Hung washing out; it will either blow dry in minutes as the wind is so strong, or freeze solid as the wind is absolutely bitter. No white stuff for us yet.

Just finishing coffee then will have HH in kitchen but I do have a lot of paperwork to do; both 'proper job' and freelance, so that will have to take over.

Flower club meeting this eve; was meant to do an arrangement for the competition (Valentine's) but brief stagger round the garden against the wind revealed very little except mud and weeds. I'd hoped there would be some Hellebores out but they aren't quite ready - I've got a great mug with "I love Chris" (no prizes for guessing OH's name) and had planned to do a little flower arrangement in it. Oh well haven't really got time.

Anyone fancy a HH at about 2.15?
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
