    These are very recent.

They'll likely need to be three years old at least before Barclaycard will even consider you for their basic card.

Capital One should be a little more lenient, but still just one year is a very very short time to have passed.

Just rang up Capital One to check on the status - good news they told me that I'd been accepted! The guy I spoke to advised me that it had been accepted with a £1000 provisional limit, I'm a bit unclear as to whether that means I will have a £1000 limit or whether it's a kind of wait and see; any ideas?

In any case I'm really shocked that I've been accepted given that it was only a couple of months ago I got denied their secured card. Could be it's because my salary has recently increased by 150%.

    Anyway wahoo :j

Can finally move away from Vanquis.
  • Creation are taking the ****. Applied last wensday, early morning, phoned today, they said underwriters are still looking/processing the application. Hurry the hell up, it's like they are working in the flintstones era. I do not believe they are busy with dealing with a vast amount applications.

I do not believe they are as popular, or get as much applications such as CAP1, NW, Barclays.... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :@

Ive just checked my Equifax credit report and they have done some searches.

Ill check again tomorrow and check to see if they do any additional checks

Just an update I've been accepted today for the Marriott card with a 2k limit.

My application was referred due to multiple applications in a short space of time as I'd only applied and been accepted for the asda card with a 1.5 limit two days before.

  • Got the paperwork through for the Aqua Reward today, had 250 in the bottom line so I assume that's my limit! Last time I had a limit that small was when I was 18! Not to worry though, mid month payments will clear it and 3% cashback well worth the hassle!

I've said this before but need to lay off the applications for a while now I think!

May I ask is that a "provisional limit" or have you received the card already?

Does anyone know whether provisional limits change often?

If they've quoted you an actual figure then chances are that's what your limit will be, despite them calling it a 'provisional limit'.
