Car Hire In Spain - No Credit Card - Help!!

You are not serious about booking with Goldcar are you !!!!!!!!!!
They are without doubt one of the worst car hire companies out there.

well I got a car booked and paid for with goldcar and I've got additional driver as well.. I dont go till 30th Sept but I will be back with a report ... This site so far as pointed me in the right direction (I hope!!) and I hope will help others

Personally, I've never found a car hire anywhere in the world that will rent a car without a credit card. You could try with your debit card and see what they say though.

Hi there I am in the same position no credit card but need to hire a car next August from Alicante. I have spoken with company called Carhire 3000 who have said no problem can arrange car hire for me. But have also contacted Goldcar direct who also say more than happy to rent a car to us. I am awaiting Another company to reply at to whether or not they will hire to non credit card holders.

Hi i recently booked a car for collection from Alicante Airport. We are travelling as a group and i am to drive so the booking is in my name, as i dont have a credit card a member of the party paid for the booking on her credit card although she has no driving licence. I didn't consider this at the time but will this be ok?? There are 4 of us travelling but only i will be driving, is it okay for another member of the party to use their credit card or not??

Does the rental agreement say that the credit card holder has to be a driver?

yes the credit card holder has to be a driver although another member of our party can be added as an additional driver and use their credit card for the security/deposit. Would this be acceptable?

Hi! We hired a car from Murcia in May. We had to pay £25 more because we didn't have a credit card but that wasn't too bad. The people saying that you have no chance of hiring a car without a credit card are wrong

could you please let me know :
(i) which car rental company you arranged your car hire with at Murcia airport?
(ii) did you contact them direct? Or did you go through a third party website? Either way could I have the website details please?
(iii) Did you have to pay the 'security deposit' by debit card or was it all done via cash?
(iv) Roughly what was the deposit?
