Thanks for the quick responses ladies. I will have a look around and try some out. I have tried an under eye roll on one before by Garnier and didn't think that did anything apart from make me look worse! Also tried boing concealer by Benefit but again seemed to make me look worse!

What under eye concealers do people recommend? I am thinking about buying the YSL Touche Eclat one but wondered about other (maybe cheaper!) suggestions. I have horrendous dark circles under my eyes, not really any bags but I often look like I have been punched in the face!!:rotfl:

I recommend Clinique Airbrush concealer, it is light reflecting and goes on like a dream. The Collection 2000 concealer is amazing but I find it a bit heavy for my undereye area and just use it on blemishes and as a highlighter, they also do a light reflective pen type concealer which is much lighter.

Aldi also do one which is about £4, I use this as an eye primer and undereye concealer. Not as light reflective as the Clinique one though but you can get 4 for the price of one of those:D

Thank you for the powder brush suggestions going to have a good think about it before making final decisions.
Those of you who bought the real techniques starter set did you need to get the shading brush as well, or were these enough for all eye makeup looks?

Ooh just remembered, Benefit Erase Paste is a bit special too, very brightening on the circles.

I have the shading brush as well but find I can manage very well without it. I use the base shadow brush for an all over colour, then the deluxe crease brush (which I adore) for my darker crease colour, then I give it all a blend with the base colour brush again. They are really lovely brushes, they wash and dry so well.

  • Hi all
Just wanted to say that I've been inspired by this thread! I haven't bought any toiletries for a while now and I finished a shampoo this morning and am just about to finish a jar of face cream.
I think what helped me was to put most of the toiletries away and just use one of each till they are finished and then take out another to replace it, rahtre than using a bit of everything. Also, I now have a set routine of what I use and when which also helps.
I've definitely saved money because of this thread :jso thanks all.

Thanks I won't rush out and buy that one as well in that case. Desperately needed new brushes my main eye brush is nice and silky, but doesn't seem to apply the colour to the eye well at all. In fact its a pain to get any colour on my eyes with it at all.

I was just about to post this - i haven't used it but i've heard a few friends say it's amazing! It's slightly expensive, but lasts ages and had great reviews on boots. Like others said, it might be worth going to a counter and trying several out first? Could be fun :T

I'm just popping in to say Hi and Bye :p just putting the finishing touches to my packing as off tomorrow for a week. Have taken lots of small sample and travel sizes with me so hopefully they will all be UU while I'm away :D

if they are bad (mine are!) look at the Bobbi Brown Corrector. it's designed to be a bit thicker to cover them well and its the only one ive really found that does one with the right amount of pink in to match my skin tone. its no cheap though but does last quite a while!
