  • Thanks again, and glad to help about HQHair! They got my friend very annoyed and upset =/ I don't have any big shops like debenhams in my town, they're about 30mins or so away so i might pop in and check out the counters. I don't really spend much on make-up but if i could find one that did the job i would consider spending more :)

The boiler has heated its last, waiting for a new one to be installed next week so the money saving element of this challenge is about to come to fore for me, in a strange way I'm relishing the idea and hopefully the reality! I'll never take a nice hot bath for granted again :rotfl:/QUOTE]

Emsjune78, sorry that your boiler has packed up. Hope the installation for the new one goes well.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j
  • Wow I have actually finished a make up product that wasnt foundation or powder I think this is a first.
27/28 Max Factor flawless perfection blusher - I am counting this as 2 for this challenge as I put £2 in the pot for make up UU.

My 26 item l'occitane order came from the flash sale which consisted of
    Discovery collection (13 items)
Shea butter collection (5 items - this one will probably be gifted)
    2 samples
immortale collection (this was a free gift - another 5 items)
    lip balm

Ive never tried l'occitane before so will enjoy using these I hope.
    No more buying toiletries
  • Had a bit of a blip - 6 INs but none paid for (except contact lens solution which is prepaid)

    IN:

    L'Oreal everpure shampoo sachet 10ml
    L'Oreal everpure conditioner sachet 10ml
    L'Oreal extraordinary oil sachet 3.5ml
    Specsavers contact lens solution 250ml
    Specsavers contact lens solution 250ml
    Specsavers contact lens solution 250ml

The sachets were all free INs from Marie Claire magazine. I now have more than 3 litres of contact lens solution and around 9 months worth of lenses, I think i need to put the contract on hold for a while!
  • Inapickle - I love that mask! I wish they did it in a tube though as it would be more cost effective!

Kadison - you've done well with the lyrics, mine have been 'la la la la angry men, hmm hmm hmm hmm...' :D

Today I've had 2 Ins, but I'm counting it as 4 as it's hair dye and they each have a tube of conditioner inside.

And I've had 4 UU's - 2 being the aforementioned hair dye, a conditioner, and an Estee Lauder foundation sample (invisible fluid) which I WNB as I found it a bit difficult to work with, and found it didn't cover well.

Had 2 GA's - one was an ebayed item, and the other was a nail varnish (pink from avon).

I've gone through all my nail varnishes, put the ones I use and love in one bag, and the ones I don't seem to use in another, and I'm going to paint my nails with the ones I don't use so I know whether to get rid of them. I did that tonight and decided I actually like two of them :)

I now have 25 I'm keeping, and 26 left to try. It's like a mini nail varnish challenge to myself :)

    hope everyone is well!

Are there any other foundations you've tried that match your skin and work? I'm very pale - often get referred to as "casper's ghost" :rotfl:- and find it hard too finding something that doesn't make me look orange. It's amazing the "ivory" shades still look orange lol!

Have you tried a powder foundation? L'Oreal True Match powder suits me very well, I'm pale skinned but I have sometimes deeply pink cheeks and chin (and nose lol!)

I use their D3/W3 golden beige in winter and their N4 beige in summer, I have tried the ones with warm undertones but I find they don't suit me nearly as well as the beige toned ones, which goes entirely against the post below!

The best thing I ever did was learn about undertones.

The palest 'ivory' shade on me will always look yellow, I've got a definite pink tint to my skin - I look for shades called things like 'rose ivory' and they tend to suit better. I say that but I only buy high street foundation as a last resort if I've got caught short!

I can get away with Lancome 24hr miracle teint in shade B10, they do 1 yellow and one pink shade lighter than that though if that was too dark.

My HG without a doubt is Make Up Forever HD Foundation in #115 but its a PITA to get my hands on here, some of the tv/film makeup stores in London carry it like PAM. Their full coverage concealer is a miracle product as well, I've had the same tube for a good two years (gross I know) and theres tonnes of product left.

I'm actually looking for swatches of the Urban Decay foundation online atm, as theres 10% off UD on HQHair atm although Debs should have the same tomorrow I think theyre doing another 10% off beauty thing. I know youtube people like xsparkage swear by it and shes pretty pale.

Well I ordered the Real Techniques starter set for the eyeshaddow brushes they arrived today they look really fluffy. Will give them a try at the weekend. I have a much better selection of brushes now. Just need a new powder brush the one I'm using is completely the wrong shape and doesn't work well, Still deciding on which replacement to get, probably buy in the next few months.

    11) UU Garnier 7 Days body lotion. WBA. I love this stuff. It's the only thing that helps my dry skin & eczema.

    12) TA Burt's Bees coconut foot cream. This stuff is beyond minging so it had to go! It looks like 8 Hour Cream, but is much thicker. It was like trying to rub a mixture of lard and superglue into my feet. Shudder.

Ooh I'm wanting to try that set, it's on my to-buy-when-I-have-money list! I have a body shop powder brush and it really good, it's last me for ages :)
