I have just explained that I ACCIDENTALLY associated your post with On my Own, because they quoted you (I have an illness that causes cognitive problems; I do this sometimes, it's a pain in the a**, but I admit to mistakes when I make them).
Fair enough. But your use of the word 'semantics' did not help.
I'm just so tired of people who don't read posts accurately and then reply unfairly. It happens daily on MSE and it's incredibly frustrating and unfair at times.
However, I guess you got the sharp end of the stick from me and for that, I too am sorry.Herman - MP for all!0 -

That would explain only changing the one .
The locksmith could have cut a key for both locks, so wouldn't need to change either lock.
Locks are only changed, in order to keep people who have keys out.0 -
I'm worried about OP. Why would anyone change a lock at their own expense and leave a key to the new one? This clearly isn't any kind of bailiff if the house hasn't been repo'd and no goods have been taken.
It's obviously not a burglary either. None of this makes any sense whatsoever. Whoever did it has lost the cost of the new lock and gained nothing. Except OPs fear, that is.
The best outcome, AFAIC, would be if the OP came back and admitted to trolling. I'd rather that than her being on the receiving end of this downright weird stuff, at the same time as dealing with a lot of other upsetting things.
I don't think she is trolling though.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -

I really hope the OP is ok.

Aye, I'd assume it wasn't a rogue locksmith going around swapping locks at random!* Who hired and paid them is the concern.
Maybe a call to all the local locksmiths asking if they'd been to a call at this address and explaining the situation - someone might take pity and 'fess up, I don't know?

What a horrible time you've been having :-( This sounds really frightening, I hope you've managed to get to the bottom of who did this and why.
I had no idea anyone could do this.
Presumably it is a case of mistaken identity, this type of practice really seems to go against the human rights act.
