    I've been Money Tipped!
Attending a property with a locksmith is normaly last option and she should have had prior contact before it got to that anyway.

Call the police and change the locks... again.

there is no letter in the house and just a blank letter attached to the door with a hand written note saying call Ben to collect my Keys written on the corner.

Anyone with the legal power to change your locks in order to enter the house should have left some official paperwork - not a note with a first name on it!

I hope you're able to find out what's happened today and resolve this.

If that is what has happened, why would they leave a key for the new lock

This is the bit that has me really confused

I don't think it's right that anyone has been in the house (let alone changed the locks) without the OP knowing about it / having received notification beforehand BUT .... why on earth would they do it and a) only change the locks on the front door (so she could still get in/out the back door) and b) leave the new key with a neighbour.

What on earth is the point of changing the locks & then leaving the new one????

OP - have you managed to speak to the police yet?

Hope you're OK & what a horrible thing to happen!
