The sense of entitlement some of you are showing is frankly staggering. You need to get a grip.0

I am more concerned for her welfare, she has not been heard of since.
Slightly worrying given the circumstances.Be happy...;)0 -
Oh my goodness...I came on to see if the OP was okay and to find out if she was any closer to finding out about what had been going on...and I find that in the midst of her grief and her current panic about what's happening she's being told off for not being polite enough to strangers on a forum!?
Firstly...why stalk her account to see when she was last active? Secondly, I leave browser windows open and put my computer on standby. When I come off standby my emails update, my facebook updates and I'm guessing my 'last active' time on this website updates if I've got the window open. She may have opened her computer and not even looked at this forum.
Besides - it was her Dad's funeral yesterday, and she's said that she suffers from depression. When you're depressed it can be hard to talk to people, even over the internet. I'm sure she'll update when she has something to tell, or when she feels able.
Maybe instead of taking offence, you could try to show some understanding and patience towards somebody who's obviously going through a very difficult time?0 -

Just you back up there a wee minute!
I checked to see when she was last active ONLY because someone posted that they were worried something serious might have happened to her.
I checked to see if she'd been online recently as that would suggest nothing untoward had happened.
That is not stalking!
If anything, my posts had been defending her! But don't let those facts get in the way of your accusations, will you?!Herman - MP for all!0 -
Just read this again today and see the post count higher so hoping the OP had posted.
I am now gigglingbecause some of the posts on here..
I bet the OP is now too scared to post in case she gets a shout saying 'about time'0 -
Alot of uneeded hostility towards the OP here, they do have other things going on.0

Apologies if misuse of semantics offended you aliasojo; I will hold my hands up and apologise - I read through and connected the person (you) who had checked when she was last active with the other person who is having a go at her in her absence for not updating >>Edit after reviewing
This was because they quoted your good point in defence of the OP to have another dig - I wasn't actually directing my post at you, so I don't want you to take offence<< I still stand by my point that people need to be a little understanding and patient...and that this isn't the right place for people to be getting upset with each other and having arguments though
I'm guessing most people who checked back here did so out of concern...how's about people leave it at that, post their support and just wait for a response from her, which (as I said) I'm sure she'll post when she's able to?

Semantics?
You miss the point.
You were wrong.
That is not down to semantics. The wording makes no odds, it's the meaning that's important.
I was in no way agreeing or affiliating myself with On My Own's comments, I was trying tactfully to suggest reasons why the OP may not have posted. Then after reading of someone's concern, I offered a reply to suggest the OP was ok as she'd been online.
OP if you're reading, I hope you got it sorted out and feel a bit more settled.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I have just explained that I ACCIDENTALLY associated your post with On my Own, because they quoted you (I have an illness that causes cognitive problems; I do this sometimes, it's a pain in the a**, but I admit to mistakes when I make them). I apologised; I was confused, my post was not in any way directed at you, I was surprised that you responded with anger as I hadn't even been thinking of you when I posted. I too was in defence of the OP. I hope we hear back from the OP soon and that she's managed to find out what was going on, and that it wasn't anything too worrying!0 -
Please, everyone, stop arguing on someone else's thread. The OP only came here for advice, support and empathy. Maybe just looking for people to talk with, to listen at a moment of profound emotional vulnerability.
If you really want to continue with your lively discussion and arguments, would it not be possible to start a new thread instead of hijacking this one?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0
