I've had the savings card, but not the welcome pack - And all I want to do is pay in the £1000!!

The welcome pack is actually only a letter and green coloured brochure (I think). I was expecting something a bit more spectacular when they said "pack". Check your correspondence - it might be there already.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I paid my £1000 in cash yesterday at CS desk.

Easy enough to do as soon as your activated card is held in your hand.

I sent my application off on the 11th June, along with a cheque for £1000. I have kept these funds available since.

On the 23rd June, I received a letter dated 21st June confirming that my account has now been opened, along with my proof of ID returned.

The letter also said I should receive a welcome pack, and any cards shortly.

Since the letter is dated 21st June, I am hoping that they will still honour the 1000 points, as it's not my fault they have had lots of forms to wade through, and my application should have been there allowing for slow 2nd class post, on 15th June at the latest.

On the 25th June, I have seen that my cheque has been debited from my A&L account, so this should certainly clear by the 30th.

Also, if they're extending the deadline past 30th June, does that mean we all have to keep our £1000 there longer?

I was planning on withdrawing money next week!!

wooohooo! I received my welcome 'pack' yesterday - welcome letter dated '18th June' (lol - you're right - its just a letter and a couple of paying in slips!!) and paid the £1000 cash into tesco today via their customer services desk.

Now someone in the know may be able to shed some light:

The account was opened on 18th June with £1 and I've just put £1000 cash in there today (29/06/2007) - I still qualify for the 1000 points right? (cause i'm sure the terms were: account open before 19th June and £1000+ balance on 30th June to get the points...)

...please correct me if I'm wrong!!

my letter was dated 22 June although it also said that the cheque for 1010 was in my account. i have a feeling that I'm going to have to fight for my points. when were the points due to appear again?

I think points are due to be added within 28 days of qualifying for them, which would be the end of the month. They are then due to appear on your statement by the end of October. Not sure if everyone has different statement dates though.

It does seem unfair if they take almost 2 weeks to open an account, even though my cheque funds were sitting in my bank account ready to be claimed. It's not my fault that it took so long, as I did apply within the time limit.

However they might add the points on by request if people do phone up and ask. It depends on how rigid they are in the T&Cs.

Can I take my money out now and still receive the free points?

Can I do a BACS or do I have to take it out the machine or cheque?

once the qualifying dates for the 1000 clubcard points have passed, people are free to withdraw their money by whatever means they choose as long as terms and conditions of the account are met, i withdrew cash because i was paying the funds in elsewhere locally and cash withdraw was quickest option imo.

Haven't browsed here for a while. Tesco doesn't seem to be mentioned in the forum, just MSE article.
It looks good to me for 6 months.
    Anyone else tried it?
    Easy to open?
How many days does it take to transfer out of it, 3daysor 4?
Or have people gone for something better that I don't know about?
