Advisor complaint, this is inane madness!!!

The fun maybe only starting for you as the WORKPROGRAMME is really where they have the top class advisors.0

Unfortunately tel3563, this is what you have to put up with if, for whatever reason, you become unemployed. Your 'history' counts for nothing.
You are now classed as a lazy, scrounging layabout and thick as two planks like the rest of us. (obviously not!!)
That said, I can't slag off all Job Centre staff. Some advisors actually do a reasonable job. They can't necessarily help much job-wise with the country being in the state it is, but they will talk to you decently and treat you with respect.
Hopefully you'll get up and running again, but in the meantime it's going to be a bit of game with the Job Centre. Just try and keep calm

Its crazy what they are getting away with, the guardian BBC 5 live and channel 4 may also be interested to hear your views and experiences on all this. The DWP guidelines state that when a WP provider is mandating something to a claimant it has to be agreed upon between you and has to be REASONABLE,if you feel its not then tell those financial sharks about it.
Shouldn't be long now until they all go bankrupt:T.The european monetary fund wont prop them up forever on a 3% success rate. Depending how we all measure success:)
Good luck.
JCP dont get paid for course attendance dont forget.0 -

I think you've just blown your chances of ever being employed as a government minister.:)0 -
The DWP have an unshakeable belief that you are unemployed because you dont have a Level2 qualification in maths / english and a vocational subject, that you can't write a CV and have no interview skills. I have taught unemployed adults who did require help on writing a CV, but when I went to sign on, and was put on the work program, they tried to send me on a 3 week course on how to write a CV. When I pointed out I had run a similar course, they admited that it was a waste of time. I have taught another vocational course which had Two degrees, one foundation degree and one about to go to uni, another who had completed the first stage of Tesco managment ladder, but had had to relocate and hadn't got his transfer through. If you want to do (for example) a certificate that would enable you to teach functional skills, then they won't fund this, even if it meant you could get a job.
My heart really does go out to you on this one, because so many of us know what it is like. This is the system, and without a major uprising (or change of governement) the way it will be. You can fight it and get depression, or you can just admit that this is the way it is, jump through their hoops and get the money. Its not easy, but unfortunatly, that is how it is.0 -
The rule when dealing with any goverment body/agency seems to be "Don't expect any common sense" - you may get some, but just don't expect any."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Could be funded by a local FE College with access to ESF Skills Support for Unemployment, could be worth checking.0 -
I'd just do the course. I've had to do basic Maths and English tests as part of job interviews despite the fact that I have O levels in the subjects and have a degree. They take five minutes to do and that's it, done. The same with the course. You could finish it early and then go home.0

Thanks for all the replies guys, does give me a little hope for the human race:T
If this was the case Tortoise, I'd gladly just do it, the thing is, "Wilfy", his actual name tag??? my park bench adviser told me it would run for several weeks.
When does enough become enough?
I actually worked out last night I've put in at least £200,000 to the system from income over the past 34 years. Not to mention all the stealth taxes and VAT etc, probably well over double this.
Do you think I could take the Govt to the High Court and sue them for mis-use of my funds, possibly get a rebate:D0
