Hiya
Who had pancakes? I had nutella on mine
Not a SFD for me today as my online shop came from S.
They forgot to apply the £12 off again so I rang them for a refund. Wonder how many people this has happened to and they didn't notice. They did it last time too!
I also got done with one of the substitutions which meant that the items on 3 for £3 were charged at full price making it £4. My last complaint was root ginger lol. You never saw such a huge piece - it cost £1.12. When I ordered, it said estimated price 17p which is for a sizable piece. I tried to explain to the guy on the phone who said 'you must have ordered a whole one' the muppet! The person shopping obviously didn't know either.
I have sent an email to complain as although it isn't a fortune, it is the principle, especially with them sending the vouchers and not applying them twice. Grrrr!
Car news was bad. They changed the cam belt and water pump which came to £250 but car wouldn't still wouldn't start and further investigations have revealed damage to engine. The parts come to £400 for this plus labour. Ouch. Transferred £100 from paypal to help.
Hubby has hired a van today seeing as we have no car, so he could deliver something sold tonight and fetch some more purchases tomorrow. He can take me to hospital in it too!
Now going to pour myself another pear cider. My last one!'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
Hi everyone, Oh PJ I dread my car going wrong they are always soooooo expensive, and the labour charges ........... I used to work in a garage (in the office) and the only way you could get anything relatively cheaply was by the mechanics doing it in their own time and then hoping they wouldnt charge you too much.
Another SFD for me, I have had DGD at home all day as the school has a burst pipe, so we have had quite a slow lazy day, but at least we managed to work her homework out and we did quite a bit of reading, we also did a fair bit of glueing, paper cutting and imaginary play - quite enjoyed it really:)
Cooked lunch and tea and every bit was eaten, at least she isnt a fussy eater but she does like a proper cooked dinner, mashed pot etc and pudding:)
So how is everyone doing, I feel a bit lost at the moment, no reason in particular, just a bit fed up, perhaps its the weather, perhaps its the wallpaper coming off the ceiling above me, perhaps its the dicky back door lock I dont know, but I will probably feel a lot better tomorrow .......:o Anyway heres hoping we all make it to the end of February, perhaps thats it we are half way through the month more or less and it seems to have been a very long first half of the month. I'd better stop waffling on and get the DGD's bag ready for school tomorrow as according to the website they will be open

Okay real quick before I read everyone's messages.. have been snowed under with eBaying.. currently sitting at £287!! However AlliBoy you are WAY too late this time. Please lurk with us though, see how things are done and please please join in next month. Didn't realise I was in the newsletter again.. we missed out on getting January in there as we were moved and "didn't count" under DFW threads...Grr! However another month is GOOD!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Hi everyone!!!
Just caught up on posts... great to hear how you are all doing. This is going to be a quickish post as it's late and need some zzZZs - will update properly one evening this week!
Today = SFD number 8.
Had one spend day over the weekend... and went out for some milk and ended up maxing out my food spends for the month as there was loads of stuff on offer. My food cupboard is now full of tuna, sardines and other goodies to last me for ages.
I have about £12 left for the month spends... is going to be tight - but hopefully I will make it.
Still lots on at work so doing a bit more overtime this week...
Am well impressed with your mammoth ebaying NSK!!! You must be ruthless!!! Hehe!
Take care everyone - catch you later in the week.

I'm in right huff. BF asked me for another 50 quid. He knew I wasn't happy as I reminded him about the last time I gave him money that wasn't that long ago. I also told him not to bother about tomorrow (my birthday). I really don't want anything as I won't enjoy it. Grrrr....DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Hi everyone, Thriftylass do you think he's forgot your birthday and wants to take you somewhere nice? my ex husband forgot my birthday one year and we got to teatime as I was waiting for a surprise, after tea I bought out this cake I'd made and asked if he would like a piece, when he said no I hit the roof and needless to say the cake ended all over him:rotfl:his excuse was 'we have 2 small children' what a cop out - Id never forget his or others birthdays cos of 2 children, anyway I managed to get a Kenw**d chef out of him:) and didnt buy him anything from me or off the girls for his birthday, childish I know but ...........
Right electric = 38 units up 10 units:eek:
gas = 7 units up 3 units
so up on both this week, I think the 7 units gas are more normal for me this time of year, and the 38 units electric Im blaming on Cbeebies:rotfl:be interesting (to me) what they are next week as DGD is going back tomorrow.
Its been snowing here this am, and still is but its quite fine so Im hoping it'll all go away fairly soon. According to the local weather is going to turn to sleet and rain this afternoon.
Another SFD for me, and we having pizza with pineapple for tea with teacakes to follow at the request of DGD, I reckon we will be too full, so probably have them before bed as supper.
Anyway off for a lurk, call in later

He won't forget as it's valentine's day too and we talked about me not wanting to do anything (well, now we'll have friends round Sunday afternoon in a week's time). But I don't want him to buy me anything or cook fancy tea as I would be basically paying for it. He's not the "i whisk you away" kinda guy, probably to scared I might get the wrong idea and expect a proposal and too skint anywayDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Afternoon All!
Thrifty, I feel your pain... I won't go into detail bit lots of hugs.
So after a Mental few days I'm checking in. Had another food shop this weekend and kept it about in the budget. A spendy day on saturday and ajust a generally manic time. I do keep checking up on you all, but it's on my phone and poxy to post with.
Budget's are looking pretty much as expected so far this month. Earning the extras has been tough as I've been rushed off my feet and barely had time for the loo lol. Hoping that over the next week I'll have some time to get some proper extras on the go again. So all in all it's a bit stagnant but very as expected.
We had a 'mystery' transaction on the CC appear the other day... just waiting for hubs to own up to it or if I have to tell him to ring the fraud department... I'm 99.9% sure he knows EXACTLY what it is and just isn't fessing up......
Should have a bit of a cheaper weekend this weekend in preparation for next weekend.
Have been torturing myself by looking a holidays for when we've become debt free... I'm hoping we'll be able to book in June... I NEED SOME SUNSHINE0 -
Hi all
PJ sorry to hear about the car. Ours is 8 years old now and goes in for MOT and service next month. Not looking forward to it but we have to keep this car for a bit longer so I hope it all goes OK.
Beckyboo, exciting times for you and your hubby, hope the work keeps rolling in. Make sure he is putting a bit away for his tax!
We have hardly any food in the house and only a dribble of milk left. Grocery shopping day tomorrow. I have two options - get in the car and drive to the shops or dig out what leftovers I can find in the freezer and make them into something. Hubby might call for some milk on the way home if I send him a nice text. I really dont want to go out and it would be more MSE to concoct something.
Ah well, its snowing but I really ought to coax the dog to go for a walk then get some more work done.0
