Co-operative Energy reviews: Give your feedback

As an experiment, I have just gone onto Co-op Energy’s homepage, and switched my daughter’s tariff from ‘September 2015 Fixed’ to ‘August 2016 Fixed’ (I am named on the account as my daughter’s authorised representative). The first problem was that, on Co-op’s own website, the September 2015 tariff was not included on the list of ‘What is your current Tariff?’. So I lied, and said she was currently on Pioneer Variable. I have now received the email confirming the switch but it is not clear whether it has taken place immediately (because my daughter is an existing customer), or whether my daughter is being treated as a new customer, and will have to wait 21 days for the switch to take place. There is supposed to be a £30 per fuel exit fee on the September 2015 tariff, so it will be interesting to see whether or not Co-op tries to impose the charge on one of their existing customers.
It will also be interesting to discover whether or not the switch is sufficient to re-awaken Co-op Energy’s interest in my daughter’s custom - for several months they have issued no bills, taken no direct debit payments, and failed to respond to my emails.mad mocs - the pavement worrier0 -

There is no exit fees for an internal transfer0 -
We never received the email saying that the switch over had happened or requesting meter reading beforehand. impossible to contact over the phone (we tried several times and gave up after 20-30 minutes each time).0

Case now lodged with Ombudsman and now waiting to get my refund back of £1000 and discover why they haven't called a bill since December.0

Well... I managed to enter the meter readings for this month into the system, and they seem to have registered.
The readings I submitted last month, by email, did not make the trip.
Still no final invoices from the outgoing supplier (Flow)
The jury is still out, with DD still not taken - since May.0 -
I switched to Co-op on 27th Feb and have only just received my first bill. They've used the correct date for my gas but a random march date for my elec and there is a random estimated read in the middle somewhere despite the fact that I have entered readings monthly. But the weirdest thing is this calculation:
Meter reading 7740-7822 = 82
82 x 2.83 = 232.06
Even if I round that to 232, I cannot get 2575
Please tell me I'm not losing the plot?0 -

I make it 2583 😀
Would be a good idea to get a metric meter !0 -

The CV would have to be 39.06 to hit 2575...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I moved from EDF to Co-Op in Feb/March and the lack of communication from both sides was shocking, neither asked me for closing/opening meter readings, I received an email welcoming me to Co-Op and details of the tariff but that was it. I rang them and asked how they came up my opening meter reading as I didn't give it to them and he didn't know, he said I don't know how we work it out. Presumably he got it from EDF, but I don't know what their closing reading was so who knows.
I've had no other correspodance from them since, i'm £250 in credit because they haven't issued a bill, I would have expected one by now.
The website is something from the 90's, so basic it's almost painful. Can't see any previous meter readings (unless I'm being thick??).
I will hopefully find a good deal when my contract with them ends so I can move to somebody better. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

I've been feeling a real prat signing up with these folks, but when I look at the volume of your posts, I feel a bit better - but not much!
Like you, I think the feel of the website is very dated, and the response to input very slow - this will probably generate unwanted key strokes.
I will let things settle down, and then look around myself.0
