MSE News: Green Deal launches to help insulate homes

Can anyone advise if green deal is actually worth it ? I live in a detached stone walled dormer bungalow with single story flat roof extension, I would need EWI and flat roof insulation I doubt that the ECO or green deal will go any where near covering the costs.
My wife claims DLA, my daughter claims income support and carers allowance to look after my wife, however my earnings are just over the 16k limit for tax credits.
I don't want to spend £100 or more on an assessment to be told it is not viable.0
