Scottish Power overcharged me £1300 and are evading making a refund

'3 0r 4 days?' not '3 or days?'.
Besides, BG start phoning long before the 30 days. As I usually order the payment almost a month before it is due they are wasting both my time and theirs.0 -
Maybe Scottish Power are building up reserves with these hikes in Direct Debits to pay for their record fines. That way they don't use any ot their own money and instead get customers to pay for their mis-selling.

Those extra charges are so easily acquired.
But now - when in London I manage a house, and that is where I expreienced the British Gas wangle.
Here's another: The bill for electricity to this house comes from EDF. The most recent one was dated 17th. April and asked for payment by 3rd. May - and then was posted on the 2nd May!
It arrived today (the 5th) and I have ordered a payment for 4 weeks from the 17th.
We consumers owe it to ourselves to be firm about this kind of thing.0 -

but anyway it didn't really answer the questions.
I found the email on the server and read it, but when I downloaded it it disappeared! This may be my incompetence or it may have a title or sender's address so obscure that trawling through my inboxes I am unable to find it, or -
as SP once sent me an email with an app attached that put all my incoming mails in the trash I am quite suspicious about it. But obviously I will have to waste some time searching for it before I can say conclusively it has gone.
However, I have now found (made a diversion to theserver) I forgot to delete it from the server and so here is page one:
Dear (spcustomer) I note your recent comments on the MSE forum. We have reached the end of our complaints process and as previously advised we have proposed that you contact the Energy Ombudsman for an independent review of your case. We have nothing further to add. We are required to manage energy complaints according to our complaints procedure and there is a copy of it here We are confident in this case that we have followed our complaints procedure correctly. Kind regards David Simpson Senior Complaints Advisor Social Media Team ScottishPower Customer Relations Tel (external) 0845 270 9450 ext 3656 So there we are. He said he would answer certain questions and then didn't answer them, but at least he has (as before) admitted that I made a complaint.
The main problem for me is to get back my £1000 plus interest, but I doubt that I ever wil unless I apply to the county court for an injunction - which is a long and boring business.0 -
which, presumably because I copied and pasted, did not show.
David's letter ends with a telephone number and mine continues with 'So there we are....blah blah blah'0 -

you say this over charging is from 10 years ago. think in that case your stuffed. you have 6 years to reclaim a debt.
if you feel cheated do as the sp rep says go to the Energy Ombudsman.
you are paying your current bills aren't you.0 -
according to my solicitor.
Interestingly, after I submitted my complaint to the (non) independent ombudsman Scottish Power sent me an email that went like this:
Dear (spcustomer)
I note your further post on the MSE forum.
Please be aware that the next stage of our debt follow-up procedure is to apply for a warrant to fit a prepayment meter in the property, as you have continued not to pay the outstanding amount. Furthermore there is no recognised payment arrangement on the account, and whether or not you continue to dispute the balance, the only way to avoid this action is to settle the account in full.
Yours sincerely
David Simpson
(end of quote)
Pretty much the talk of criminals.
So if necessary I will use a generator of some sort because I am damned if I will put up with a prepayment meter. There is plenty of space for one here. In fact when I was a child we didn't bother with things like electricity and mains water.
But actually I don't think he can legitimately apply for a warrant for anything when he is so vigorously avoiding settling the matter. I keep on giving them the same money every month and my consumption is steadily falling.
David: my meter readings today are: (low) 65358 and (normal) 73458. The meter-reader called when I was not in.0 -
Have you tried contacting the CEO?0
