What is the point of trying to communicate secretly with persons who wish to be open and public?
SP have rejected your claim as has the Ombudsman.
You can either forget about it, pay the outstanding balance on your account and move on
or
As previously suggested, pursue the matter through the small claims court.
Time to stop avoiding the issue and take positive steps to reach a final resolution.
Repetitive and pointless posts will not help you resolve this issue, if that is the reason you are posting on this site.
Edit.
From post #14 on this thread
Scottish Power company representative. Thank you for offering to review this matter for me. Experience so far suggests that this is a way of trying to hide the matter from public attention.
I happen to be in a fortunate position in that I can if necessary take legal action....0 -
Are you both working for or on behalf of Scottish Power?
But here's a bit more fun:
I've been going through the correspondence on this matter and found David's email of the 14th Feb (St. Valentine's day!) in which the following appears:
(begin quote)
"I attach a copy of our letter dated 03 January 2013 confirming that we have reached a state of 'deadlock' in relation to your complaint. I therefore suggest that you contact the Energy Ombudsman to take your complaint further.
We will continue to request full payment unless you agree to a formal repayment arrangement.
(end quote).
The only thing is, he hasn't attached the letter at all, and as far as I know has never sent it.0 -

Direct Debacle a fifth columnist shill for the utility companies. :rotfl:That's an ingenious deep false flag straight bat you're playing there, Direct. Any children or co-written manifestos you aren't telling us about?
Say what you like. You can't prove a thing. I have the universal defence to anything which is:
The only thing is, he hasn't attached the letter at all, and as far as I know has never sent it.

I can confirm that a copy of the letter in question was sent as a document attachment by e-mail and at your request in plain text on an e-mail. It is valid and you can take your case to the Energy Ombudsman, but it is your choice whether or not to do that.

I am the official company representative of Scottish Power. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
SP wrote me a letter saying the electricity would be off for one day whilst they cut branches which were 'interfering with our overhead cables' on a recent date and the power went off in the morning of the day concerned. I took the day off and went round the long way because the road here is a single carriageway and the power lines are on poles at the side of the road.
In the evening I came back by the normal route because I knew they would have finished (there were only three trees touching the lines).
As I drove down the lane I noticed that the exact same trees were still leaning on the power lines!
So what the hell were they doing?
Yes, David. I will write to the (non) independent ombudsman, but at present my printer is broken and I cannot be othered with writing by hand.0 -

You can submit your complaint to the Energy Ombudsman online if you prefer.
The issue with the power lines is one for SP EnergyNetworks you can contact them on 0845 273 4444 or visit their website I will e-mail you the link.

SPDavid you are one of the most patient and measured people I have ever met..... :AI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

David has at last managed to get a situation where I cannot escape using the (non) independent omudsman service, and as soon as I get time I must tackle the subject. Of course, if they don't help I can still go to court over it and ask for both money and an injunction.
(Some of you may be interested to know that I don't actually need the money but am more interested in the principle of honest dealing and the protection of consumer rights and projecting the matter forward, it seems to me that if I don't get a just solution I will probably feel I have to keep on going like I have so far. Talk about tedious)0 -
I finally got round to using the online (non) independent ombudsman service, stated my position and told them that SP have decided we have reached a deadlock solution and written to tell me, and they replied thus:

Thank you for your email received on 25 August 2013 about Scottish Power.
There are some rules about when we can accept your complaint. The deadline for bringing a complaint to us is nine months from the date you first told Scottish Power about the problem. As you first raised your complaint with the service provider over nine months ago, we are unable to
help.
The only way in which we can become involved is if the service provider has written to you with its full and final position. This is often referred to as a deadlock letter and will refer you to our service.
If you receive a deadlock letter you need to bring it to us within six months of the date on the letter.
You may wish to contact Scottish Power and ask for its full and final position on the matter. The following details may help:

!!
So now I have written to them with details of the 'deadlock' letter, but as it did not arrive as a file on my computer as advised by David I could only print them a copy of David's email informing me (with wrong date) of it's existence.
If that will do, then all is fine. If not, I will probably be forced to search through my snailmail in the hope of finding it and then if that takes too long be told I cannot put in my complaint because I have run out of time....
Then, I suppose, I will be forced to apply for an injunction and at the same time claim money from SP.
How tedious can things get?0
