  • I just recently used glasses direct. i was very happy especially as they offer a home trial where you can try on four pairs at home for free for a week.
Although I do think there are some cheaper glasses companies online they do have a good selection.
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I used Glasses Direct and found their website live help and their customer service to be first class.

I ordered 2 pairs of specs, one with tint. Both arrived within a week but the sunglasses were too big so I returned them and ordered different frames. The replacement pair arrived about 2 weeks later, together with a 20% off card for myself and 2 friends :)

All for under twenty quid :money:

  • I haven't tried them myself but I have used 39DollarGlasses.

Personally I don't understand why you'd want to use anyone else. They make an amazing product and get your glasses to you in just days rather than week like most of the other online eyeglasses companies. And their customer service dept is amazing! One of them even saved a woman's life! It was all over the news.
  • DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!

Their glasses are cheaply made (I believe thay come from China) their customer service SUCKS. I had bent frames (and yes they were delivered that way) and when I called them about it they told me that was too bad and they would not do anything about it.

Yeah the cost was cheap but so was the product AND I had to wait 3 WEEKS to get them.

    Buyer BEWARE!
  • In our house we now have 3 pairs of glasses/sunglasses from Glasses Direct. Yes they are cheap but they do designer frames too if you want to spend more. Their customer service was great and we also used the "try on at home" service to check the style and fit before buying. I would use them again.

    Dear Mr McBride,

I'm very surprised by your post, and I must confess, somewhat suspicious.
    1. If anyone has any issues with their order within 14 days we will repair, replace or refund it without any issue. We'd certainly never say 'Too bad'. If anyone on our team has said that, then that would be completely unnacceptable. We offer a total 100% refund even if you simply don't like it, let alone if it's actually bent or damaged.
    2. We haven't had an order from anyone with your name for over 3 years.
    3. We work very hard to make sure our customer service is the best in the industry.

If any of what you say has happened, I'd really like to get in touch and see who it was you spoke to as that is entirely unnacceptable.

If you can give me an order reference or something else I can use to identify the order that would really help me out.

I used them after finding a discount code on here. Very nice- played bets and ordered the cheapest frames they had to see what the quality was like. £19, I think for two pairs? Seem good enough.
Ordered a couple of months ago, again with a discount code. Ordered at 2200hrs, the next morning, all their lenses went to 1/2 price! Cursed my luck, but phoned anyway- they very nicely upgraded my order, and refunded me the difference. Nice to do, especially as they didn't need to.
Waiting to see if I can claim against the order on my health insurance now. :)

Does anyone know of an online supplier that does single vision lenses upto say -11.00 ?

Why do on line suppliers stop at -8.00 ish?

    I have just used glassesme

They took about 4 weeks to get to me, but they are spot on prescription wise and PD.

When I was last in the opticians I got them to measure my PD so I knew what it was.

    hi everyone,

sorry to bump up an old-ish thread but though its better to ask questions here rather than start a new thread,

recently been to have my eyes checked and i need glasses, long distances & driving, ive never had glasses before.
ive noticed glasses direct have a £30 voucher so i could get 2 pairs for £19

does anyone know when it says free pair is that of the exact same pair? so i`ll recieve 2 of whatever i choose?
    you cant mix and match?

    thanks in advance claire.

ETA: looks like you pick another pair and it takes a discount off that and is the free second pair.
