    I know how it feels.
Whenever I log on here (when I'm not surfing the Saga website), I find out how useless, redundant and greedy I am. Furthermore, I have stolen it all from the young, who will deny me healthcare and a pension as punishment. Thanks for that. :)

You're not old enough for Saga are you?;)

These threads about how lazy and worthless and useless young people are really upset me. I work 80+ hours a week running my own business. I worked the last 35 days straight (that's not a typo) and it's not looking good for getting a day off in February either. My entire life is ruled by work. And whenever I log onto this forum to try and get a break, this thread is at the top telling me that I need to work harder. Thanks for that. :(

All the comments are generalisations and nobody need take it to heart it it doesn't apply to them.

Re the comment about what is 'yoof' I think the general impression of the older generation is that until about the age of 30 many live a lifestyle which used to be mostly limited to teenagers. That's fair enough, but it's not normally consistent with saving up for the deposit on a house.

The "battle" between "yoof" and "boomers" on this forum appeared to start with a few trolls -- mostly lefties but not all -- who decided to start threads attacking the older generation for alleged greed, selfishness, destroying the planet etc etc. It took off from there. I have put all these cretins on Ignore now so unless someone reposts them I don't see the mindless claptrap that they put up.

Exactly! I just see these threads (and there seem to be so many of them ........... or threads that mysteriously morph into the subject of Old versus Young!) as a bit of a laugh.

The misconceptions about both groups are silly, sad and hilarious in equal measures.

The truth is that most young and most oldies are decent, hard-working individuals who get along perfectly well and have absolutely no issues with those at the other end of the age spectrum.

    Go hug a granny ........... or a yoof :D
