slow drivers

We are constantly told and retold that the speed limit is not a target. we are also told to drive as safely as we can, and we are told that speed limits are in place not only for safety, but also fuel economy.
When you consider that, I don't see any of the reasons I gave to be sufficiently unreasonable to come close to being considered criminally inconsiderate.
)
So after passing your yet you decided to forget what you had learnt and drive how you like.
Sounds like option 3 to me, doesn't it to you.
Oh and just out of curiosity care to point me in the right direction so I can see who it is that is constantly telling you these things please.0 -
Im a new driver (Must have driven about 15 trips in total!), I'm constantly over taken when i drive at the limit on country lanes, dual carriageways etc.
Its quite shocking how many people speed past me, and it doesn't help new drivers adhere to the limits as they feel pressured to go faster.0 -

No, you stated some posts ago that drivers are entitled to drive "...to what their ability & skill level is..." and if that is slow then that is fine, regardless.
Except it is not fine is it?
And we are talking of perfect driving conditions, not of adverse weather.
Unnecassarily slow driving could be an offence.
If somebody only has the skill & ability to drive significantly slower than what they should then they do not have the required minimum skill & ability to continue holding a licence.
That is what you have said and it is not true and you know it.0 -

So what official authority has told you that you should drive at 40 in a 60? Why would it be signed at 60 if it wasn't the appropriate speed for it?
(And please don't mention the weather, we are on about numptys who drive slow all the time)
we are also told to drive as safely as we can,
Are you saying that 40 in a 60 is safer than 55 in a 60?
and we are told that speed limits are in place not only for safety, but also fuel economy.
Lost me here pal, could you please post up some traffic signs that are used in the UK that are used for 'fuel economy' enforcement?
What is the penalty for disobeying them?
Or are you talking out of your hat?

I quoted verbatim
I can't help that you can't see past your bonnet
:rotfl:
Ahh, but I can, that's why I told you I wear shades and make use of the sun visor if, errrr, the sun is bright!
You're the one who struggles to see past the bonnet because the sun is out whilst your doodling along at 30mph in a 60 oblivious to all around you whilst you have your face stuck to the windscreen like Mr Magoo!!!
:rotfl:
You're a menace on the roads!0 -
As far as I could see its either because;
1. They feel unsafe going any quicker; or
2. They never look in their mirrors so have no idea they are holding anyone else up; or
3. They have passed their driving test so now they can drive how they want without considering anyone else.
An I missing any other reason?An I missing any other reason?0 -
Option 5: It's hard to concentrate on texting and driving at the same time.0

Option 4, They are happy at that speed and consider you happy to follow them or welcome to overtake.
Looks to me that your option 4 is the same as my option 3 except you call it indifference and I call it inconsiderate.
Whatever different names we call it, it still boils down to ignoring what they learned to pass their test.
.... and of course the problem is with 'them' they are the ones who are driving to a lesser standard, or have I missed something?0
