    More like!

But, hey, wouldn't want to spoil what floats your boat.
  • and just so we are clear the driving test is a minimum standard if, after passing it, and with the benefit of years of driving experience, common sense and the right attitude toward other road users you find you cannot understand why some drivers do not drive at the maximum allowed speed ..........

Ah but [I think] I can, they are either incapable or inconsiderate and nothing posted on this thread (yet) has given me any reason to change my perception.

In fact the number of derogatory posts that have been aimed at me has had the opposite effect if anything.

To be fair you didn't just ask a simple question, you argued and continue to argue the toss with anyone who doesn't 100% agree with what you post.

Fair point, although I wouldn't phrase it like that myself.

In my defence if you go back and read the first few pages (I just have done) you can probably see why I have continued 'to argue the toss' but I accept I am flogging a dead horse.

    As far as I could see its either because;

    1. They feel unsafe going any quicker; or
    2. They never look in their mirrors so have no idea they are holding anyone else up; or
    3. They have passed their driving test so now they can drive how they want without considering anyone else.

An I missing any other reason?
You've been given reasons. You just don't want to accept them.

Really? Where? Care to point out one that is not actually just another way of saying one of the three I first posted, because I have not seen any

Thing is they have paid the taxes and have every right to be where they are. Tough that they are in front of you.

<sigh> OK, why would anyone consider any of the above are valid reasons for consistently driving at a much slower speed than the law and conditions permit?

We are constantly told and retold that the speed limit is not a target. we are also told to drive as safely as we can, and we are told that speed limits are in place not only for safety, but also fuel economy.

When you consider that, I don't see any of the reasons I gave to be sufficiently unreasonable to come close to being considered criminally inconsiderate.
OK, clearly the above are valid reasons for consistently driving at a speed that the law and conditions permit
I fixed your sentence for you. :)
Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.
