  • October is finally over, my 50th birthday celebrations seemed to start ages before and continued long after.
I got an embarrassing amount of booze related presents - 8 bottles of wine and 3 bottles of champagne.
My final houseguest left on Friday and I packed her off with 2 bottles of champagne and the remaining 4 bottles of wine.
We're staying with her over Christmas so at least we've got it stashed away and will have less to spend on the Christmas booze.
I missed my October target (again) and so am aiming for a moderate 15 in November.
Today is Sunday and one of the healthy habits I am trying to develop on a Sunday is zero booze. If I drink on a Sunday I start at lunchtime and don't stop, not much fun for the children.
Despite this I have a bottle of wine staring at me across the kitchen. I'll put it away and may have it tomorrow. I have an evening meeting so will be late back from work and as it will also be my first day back after my week off I think I'll need it.
Can you put me down for 0/15 please?

    Jo

Glad your birthday celebrations went well jo. That's a really good plan to put the Christmas booze away in someone else's home. Definitely out of reach there.;)

Hello everyone, well done on meeting October targets, we didn't but it wasn't too bad considering the few days in Spain mid month - managed 12/15 in October.

Like other people have said, the long dark nights don't really help but i will try for 15 days in November. I will also try to find more time to get on here and keep up to date with the thread.

good luck with anything anyone is aiming for in November.
  • I am declaring early as the shops are shut, dinner is cooking and there is a Christmas cake ready to go in the oven as soon as the roast comes out :).
    1/21 for me please Shaggy

3/25 please Shaggy... I like to think of the dark evenings as a perfect time for sitting indoors reading, watching films, drinking hot chocolate and tea/coffee with a little cake or biscuit! If I'm snuggled in my PJs early, I feel it is somehow "wrong" to have an alcoholic drink anyway! So I'm learning to look at it differently...

1/20 to start my November refocusing on health, both with cutting down the booze and too much sugar, and getting more exercise.

I slipped dreadfully in October and have the extra lbs to show for it.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
