Hey up chaps - Shaggy my love have to look at diary and tot up my af days to date.
Hope you're all good.
My father was an alcoholic in answer to the question posed a way back. Found stone dead at 53 having drunk himself to death. Sorry if this upsets anyone but I constantly keep myself in check by thinking of how easy it would be sometimes to just keep up the drinking I use to do. I really don't want to upset anyone but I saw him get worse and worse and no help worked as he didnt' want to help himself. Its a horrible disease (alcoholism, not social moderated drinking).
I'm 45 now and not that much younger.
What a waste of his life, I want to celebrate life not destroy my own.
Anyway - not dwelling, just thought I'd respond.
We - ahem, me new husband and I really missed him at our day, we had a really great wedding - and whilst the wine flowed freely we also had a huge variety of soft drinks which were well scoffed.
I had only one glass of wine the whole day - didn't want/need/crave it.
Nice to have a beautiful event to remember without my head in my hands thinking 'oh god what did I say'.
Lovely weekend with chums, with various partying going on but nice to feel in control too.
*link to some photos on my rambly blog if you want a neb, no laughing at my wellyboots!
Never thought I'd get to this stage in my life, be surrounded by vino and not actually scoff the lot. 60 bottles later I scoffed none of it. Although I slurped my way through gallons of elderflower cordial.
Progress of some description.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
