Have a good Friday everybody xx0 -
Morning :hello:
2 more AFDs.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Hello everyone,
I did have a drink last night but I have noticed that since I joined this thread the amount I have, even on days I do drink, has reduced considerably. Only 1/2 pint of lager (with curry!) and one 175ml glass of wine. I will be drinking tonight too but I don't 'go mad' like I used to on a Friday night - I will only share a standard bottle of wine with my OH whereas I used to have the half bottle and then go on to cider .
Have a great weekend all0 -
Last night we were busy sorting out some boxes from when we moved into our current property 4 months ago!
I find by keeping myself busy and preoccupied the thought of an alcoholic beverage doesn't cross my mind. I have got a feeling I won't be able to keep this up as it gets closer to Christmas though! AF 16/30Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -

Wow! Just four months you are organised!:rotfl::rotfl:
Distraction is a great way of avoiding drinking skintdad, well done.:T Just all the money you must be saving, you could buy storage units!;)
If I were you, unless you genuinely want to give up drinking, I'd make a plan for December. I used to go through my diary and count up the days when it would be possible to have AF days (i.e. no special events etc.) then perhaps a couple of extras for flexibility to set my target. Now I have a regular target of 10 and work on a 'meet it or beat it' approach.0 -
maman: Great advice, I am starting to wonder if I set myself an unrealistic target.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -

Thanks. If I am honest, I don't know if I want to 100% give up drinking or not? It started as a way to save money but as the days go by it is getting easier and easier.
I think for November I will go for a tough but realistic target with an aim to as you say 'meet it or beat it'Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -
