    5/24 AF for Febrewery

    Still procrastinating
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Interesting posts!

I had a lot of smoking dreams when I gave up cigarettes - would wake in a panic at the thought of having to go through the withdrawal again!
Funny, but when I look back I can hardly believe that I smoked for such a long time - I can hardly remember that person or that habit. I wonder if I'd get there with drinking if I stopped completely?

Anyway, another AF day, so that is 3 I think for February and 2 for the SNC
    Trying to keep in budget.

It is really useful to read all the replies, they are supportive and help me think about my own alcohol use in more depth. Very tired as had a late meeting at work and only got back 30 minutes ago. Hot chocolate and bed for me so that is 5 AFD please Shaggy :)

Just got back from the gym (yes, it is very late!). 2/4 SNC for me please.

On the way back I remembered a book that I read last summer by Allen Carr (the stop smoking guy, not the comedian), called 'The Easyway to Control Alcohol'. It basically goes through all the myths behind the 'reasons' people drink, and debunks them. It was a bit of a tough read at times due to the rather 'eccentric' style of writing, but well worth it in my opinion. I know exactly which drawer I put it in so must make time to re-read it again.

  • AF - 4/26.

Tonight I have helped my daughter with her college work, in the past I would have been rushing her to get it done, so I would be done for 'wine time'. But not anymore, I really enjoyed helping her.

Had a Bavaria AF beer tonight, although I am keen to break the habit of having some thing that looks like alcohol, at the moment I guess it's better to have this than the real stuff. I am really interested in everyone else's stories, we can all learn so much from these.

Have had aching legs and head since Saturday, not sure if it was the nasty wine on Friday night.

    Have a good week everyone.

I'm on day 38 af now. Today I got an appointment for my initial assessment with the alcohol and drug people. Can't remember what theyre called! I go at half nine of Thursday.

That's brilliant jak, great score and great that you're organising things so that you've got a network of support.

Another for me: I did fancy a glass earlier around wine o'clock but I told myself the feeling would pass. And it did!:D

Lunch out with friends tomorrow. I'm planning a drink as I missed out on so much social stuff over Christmas.

    2 AFDs please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
