Well, I seem to have well and truly fallen off the wagon today.
I thought Saturday was a planned drinking day for you so no problem unless you were absolutely legless having consumed your complete wine cellar!;)
I went to a party last night and volunteered to drive home. I could have made it an AF night but had a couple of glasses when we got back. Why????
Wine with dinner today then straight back on the wagon tomorrow!0 -
Hi all, I'm currently ploughing through the thread and up to page 153.
I haven't get a target for September but today is my 3rd AF day of the month and I'm planning to do he full monty on SNC til the end of the month so I'm aiming at 9 ish for the whole month.
I'm going to finish off catching up and will be back later

Well hello thread!
I'm going to re-join tomorrow (or is this me doing it now?...).....it's well over a year since I was here & I am STILL on the ** (too embarrassed to actually spell it out but the number of stars is a clue) bottles of wine a day, every day, it never changes. I'm sure I've posted an almost identical post to this many moons ago, that a teeny crumb of comfort is that I never need more, or turn to stronger drinks, but even so 20 alcohol units a DAY??!! I completely fail to understand why I carry on with this (£££££).
Amazing (LUCKY) I'm not seriously ill by now.
Anyways, sorry, a rather self-indulgent post, I'll sharpen up my sparkling wit & repartee before I re-join "properly". Tomorrow.....
Hi to maman & shaggy, I've only glanced over the last couple of pages so sorry if I've not acknowledged someone else I should recognise. Are Jo1972, Lurkio, YM, GC Miss P & all the other "old crowd" still around? If not I hope that's because they've slayed their demon & no longer have the monkey on their back.
Huh? Where do I get this s**t from :rotfl:
Already feels good to be back in the fold, tho' feeling sheepish (geddit?) wb x0 -
Hi Winebox
WB :j I am new here (joined Aug) when I was drinking ** bottles most nights
I can still easily manage ** but the days I don't drink have increased since I joined.
The last week has been abysmal but I am hoping for an improvement this week, although I am not sure there are enough days left in the month for me to hit my target of 15 but anything is an improvement!!!0 -

Being wasted by the afternoon has never been a particularly good look, has it?I did manage an alcohol free EVENING though.:o
However, today has so far been AF and I don't plan on having a drink tonight.2018 totals:

I've just about caught up now  to the newbies who have climbed aboard since my last visit in mid August.
I've done a count up and there are 7 school nights between now and the end of the month.
I've also counted 18 school nights in October so will be looking for a target around that level. I have my 50th birthday during October half term so will jump off the wagon for most of that week.
Bye for now

Managed to have an AF Sunday. I'm 32 now and I cannot recall having an AF Sunday (by choice) since I went away to university aged 18.2018 totals:

I've reached the bottom of a bottle this evening, and am burying my head about how awful I'll feel tomorrow. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -

But, as someone once said 'Tomorrow is another day' and we'll be back on the wagon then! Don't beat yourself up satchmo.:)Managed to have an AF Sunday. I'm 32 now and I cannot recall having an AF Sunday (by choice) since I went away to university aged 18.
That's amazing Alex, you could easily have had a drink with Sunday roast or this evening and you've resisted.:T:T:T What an achievement! We all have different motivators for cutting down: mine's calories and the great feeling of being in control followed by money saving. Whatever floats your boat.:D0 -
Thank you
As you know mine is mainly money saving. However, I have on numerous occasions been told by my doctors to cut down due to depression. Whilst I don't seem to be getting any better health wise, I'm saving quite a lot of money, hopefully the health benefits will come.2018 totals:
