What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
  • Thanks to everyone for their advice.

Did have a glass of wine with my meal last night as had car, but succumbed to a large Drambiue with a coffee when home. I'm hoping if I can discipline myself to having a few drinks at the weekend/special occasions then the rest of the week will give my liver a rest.

I wish everyone the best of luck and will keep watching the thread to see how everyone's getting on.

Hi, how does opening a bottle of wine pouring a glass knocking the bottle over then taking a sip of the wine realising it was rubbish and you were knackered and going to bed count as a AF day? cause that was me last night lol

lamarsi, I'd count that as an afd :A If anything, the effort of tidying up the wine that you knocked over probably had a net positive effect on your wellbeing :)

Well I've had two night of silly drinking in a row this weekend (silly drinking = drinking well beyond the point of feeling merry) and have felt very rough today as a result. It didn't help that last night was spent 'socialising' with people I didn't want to be around!

    3/20 for me :-/

13/25 AFDs, and I too have had two nights of silly drinking in a row this weekend, and my body was objecting this morning. Plus I had a poor nights sleep last night. Off to bed now, to catch up on some zeds
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Morning everyone,

I am very disappointed in myself - even though I was determined not to drink on Friday night (I even went shopping specially to get some 'adult type' soft drink) I didn't manage to last past 7.30pm before succumbing to a glass of wine (which then turned in to 3 by the end of the evening :o).

I don't know if anyone else has the same problem but I really struggle to find a soft drink that I like - they are all far to sweet for my liking - I am a 'dry' wine/cider girl - usually the only soft drink I have when I am out and driving it slimline tonic but I can only stomach so much of that :(.

Oh well, I shall put this weekend behind me and start afresh - onwards and upwards :)

At last..... woke up this morning with no sore head! In fact didn't wake up until 9.30am!!! (just as well don't work on a Monday)

So for me, it's taken a week to flush the rubbish of alcohol and painkillers out even though tempted to take a couple of paracetamols as had a throbbing headache every day .. but it's been worth it.

I now have to be strong and stick to no drinking during the week and sensible drinking at the weekends.

Thankyou for all your support. Its good to know there are like minded people there to help when needed.

Sukeyboo, have you tried drinking a bottle of lager when out, you can make it last a fairly long time (if driving) I'm like you and don't particularly like sweet soft drinks either.
