Hiya, I'm smothered, my dd is kicking off as usual. I feel quite serene however. Just paid a few bills and I feel good. Bought Covonia throat spray and it helps a lot. Paracetamol every 4-6 hours and plenty of fluids. Couldn't see dad today as I am so ill, matron's orders. Gonna be AF night again, I feel so ill but it is getting slightly better. 7 AF days.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Hi All

Forgot to come on the last few days, can you add another 2 AF's bringing me to 5AFD's please Shaggy.

Hope you feel better soon 41 my DH & kids would love it if I lost my voice :rotfl:seriously though get well soon.

For those that have been cutting down a while now, can you tell me did you ever get anxious?? What I mean is, after having 3 or 4 days AF & feeling good, I start to worry about having a drink at the weekend & worry that I won't be able to stop again (does that make sense) :o

Hi all, just popping on as been on induction this week for the new job :)

5 AFDs for me please Shaggy. Hope people are well and taking care of themselves :)

Landlord still hasn't paid my deposit, even though he was happy with the property, no problems with the condition and said I was a great tenant. So going to have to raise a dispute with the deposit scheme people. Bloomin' landlords! :o
  • I am feeling better. I am so grateful for my improvement, it makes you appreciate things when you are on the mend. Drinking loads of water as constipated from co-dydramols and then co-codamols, now thankfully on paracetamol but I still don't have a voice, it would be funny if it wasn't so inconvenient lol. Put on 2lbs in slimming world so going to be good and ALCOHOL is banned, why would I want to put poison in my mouth and calories to boot. Feeling strong in spirit but body needs a bit longer. Hugs to all who need them, thankyou for keeping me sober, one day at a time and lots of love to you all. 9 AF days, and loving it, my throat would be a whole lot worse if I was drinking.

Tesco Credit Card £250 £25 DD 0% for next 10 months.

Barclaycard Initial £241.45 0% for next 7 mths.

    9/20 AFDs so far.

It was sooo tempting to go and buy a bottle of wine, but I CBA as DH had dinner cooked and waiting.

Why was I tempted? Too much team talk about looking forward to a drink. Stress/anxiety/anger built up because all day I have been told the interesting part of my role is being moved to another team. All that's left is the grunt work, which doesn't allow creativity. My manager has been told that if anything comes up elsewhere I will be applying. Trouble is, with so many economies having to made around the organisation, I doubt if there'll be much that isn't earmarked for those "at risk".

DH is pushing for us to retire next year. My role being de-specialised should make that an easy decision, except that I don't want to retire. I'm not 60 for another three years (and two weeks). When we retire we plan to move to the North West to be nearer the grandchildren (we're currently 180 miles away). The job situation in the NW is worse than here.

I feel really conflicted, though, because if we moved to the NW now, I could become my mum's carer which would guarantee some income. We have just paid off our mortgage (woo-hoo), and selling our house here would allow us to buy a house outright in the NW and still bank £100k.

So why am I gloomy? I guess because I can see how incredibly bored I will be with the role that's left, and I know that I won't have the option to cherry pick the tasks I do like I can now. That will be 12 months of boredom.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
